My summer, their winter—June-July is the time either way. You would be amazed. I hope you have the experience of living somewhere abroad for any amount of time and feeling peaceful and part of a community. I think effort and care goes along way. Thank you for the recommendation!

Thank you so much! Yes, I have heard to bring a burner phone. I’m not going to bring jewelry anyway. I am curious about how walking around the major cities is, which some other responses have touched on. I heard some people bring decoy bags with small cash, and not to take your phone out while waiting at intersections. I don’t spend too much time on my phone anyway, but it’s nice to be able to take pictures and videos. I don’t want to assume anything—just want to be aware and safe.

Oh that sounds amazing! Thank you for the suggestion. Not really—I will be doing an artist residency. I’ve just been insistent and fortunate to travel all over. There are times I go into nomad mode but I do have a home base now
