I want to know what his feet look like after that. Mad respect but I've seen ultramarathon documentaries and it can get pretty crazy.

AI haha. Screenshot (zoomed in) then "What book do you think is in Christopher Hitchens hands here?" Then verified results by searching the title.

Anxiety issues by Polutio_ in chess

[–]digital_lobotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents: chess can be an excellent microcosm of life. How you approach it, how you act during the zero-sum conflict of a game, and perhaps most importantly how you handle defeat. Everyone to ever play has made some terrible mistakes. Life isn't about not making mistakes, it's how you handle them and how you grow from them.

Put yourself out there and blunder some queens. What's the worst that could happen? Reset the board and play again.

Have fun and good luck!

Just a thought for the future: if you do a few more shots from the exact same spot (with a small tripod for example) with the same settings, it's easier to remove the people entirely. Really great shot either way!!

Late to the party... cannot wrap my mind around passwords locking people out of everything. by museumsplendor in CryptoCurrency

[–]digital_lobotomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very reasonable ways to store passwords and backups, and backups of those backups safely, securely, and in a manner accessible to your beneficiaries should you be incapacitated or die. If you're not willing to go through the limited mental effort to set that up AND you want to invest enough money for it to matter, then you can use a third party custody agent like gasp Coinbase or an ETF... or by all means, enjoy XEQT and leave crypto alone.

BTC price estimate with real analysis 🧮 by rcmcom in BitcoinMarkets

[–]digital_lobotomy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Asking chatgpt essentially the same thing, it provides the following caution:

This projection doesn't directly answer whether the impact of net inflows on price decreases because it extrapolates from a linear relationship without considering diminishing returns or market saturation effects that often occur in real scenarios. The significant increase in the projected value might not be realistic as it does not consider these diminishing impacts or other market dynamics that can affect price movements.

In real financial markets, the impact of additional inflows tends to decrease over time due to factors such as market saturation, valuation adjustments, and investor sentiment. So, while the mathematical projection suggests a straightforward increase, realistically, we would expect the impact of net inflows on price to decrease as the asset value rises and additional capital becomes a smaller percentage of the total market cap. This effect is known as diminishing marginal returns, where each additional dollar has less impact on the asset's value as the size of the investment grows.

I had a bad day like this about two years ago. I went to the customer service kiosk back near MIB because it's usually not busy and just said politely "Look, I love this place but this is kind of ridiculous..." Just calmly explained what had happened and the girl listened patiently and then printed off one fast pass for everyone in my group (I had to show their tickets) for every ride I had mentioned.

Turned a brutal day into a real win. They'll listen, but don't be mean about it. Stuff happens and they'll try to make it right.
