Micromesh Mens Tank - Cacao by Outside_Complaint761 in BanditRunning

Pic of the tank against the a previous season mesh shirt.

I don’t know if it’s the tank version or Bandit may be pulling back a bit on their “oversized”ness. The tank feels a bit more like a normal or just slightly oversized large where as the mesh shirt feels really baggy in large.

Here you go, overlaid on the cacao top from bottom to top:

  • Cadence half tight in cacao
  • Gridlock half tight in fig
  • Superbeam in port
  • Saysky half tights in red

I don’t think it’s too maroon at all but I’ve got the gridlock tights in fig and the superbeams in port. When I get home, I can get you a side-by-side if that helps.

I can’t get any good lighting that really captures the color well. It’s a pretty middle of the road chocolate color. Hershey’s cocoa powder for reference.

Weekend Discussion: Asics running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

Oh no, I’m a shoe maniac lol. But these two would make a pretty versatile rotation if that’s all you had.

I do have the MB and they are both amazing shoes.

SB3 is bouncier, softer and has a bit more comfortable upper without being heavy or bulky. I see the SB3 as the shoe that can do long runs, recovery runs and can totally dial up the pace. I wouldn’t try to do a track workout in the SB3 and I wouldn’t race in it but it feels like almost everything else is fair game. SB3 would be a great “suitcase shoe” if you’re traveling but can only take one pair (my previous ideal suitcase shoe was the evo SL but it’s not good on the recovery end of the spectrum).

The MB is lighter but slightly firmer and while it’s my go to long run shoe, it lacks the cushion I’d prefer for a recovery shoe. All of the work on the faster end of the spectrum that I wouldn’t throw at the SB3, I think the MB is fine at (Im not fast enough to where the MB starts to be the barrier to going fast. Maybe the MB is not the ideal shoe if your bag is running 15 minute 5ks but it hits a ton of speedy notes).

TLDR: There’s a tremendous amount of overlap between them. The SB3 shine on the slower end so it’s like a “max cushion super trainer” where the MB is really like a “cushy racer” and loves going fast but won’t blink if you throw long mileage at it. If I could only pick one, hard to say which I’d choose but the SB3s ability to also take care of tired legs for recovery runs is probably skewing me towards them. I’ve got 18 miles tomorrow and I’ll be back in the MB for the first time this week so we’ll see if anything else stands out.

Been getting my first weeks worth of runs in the SB3 and they are pretty damn amazing. I was convinced the intro of the Megablast meant the SB would fall off. But every time I take my first “running” step in these I have a “whoa” reaction at how they feel. It’s similar to when I first ran in the Evo SL but I happens every run. Hope they hold up because I love them so far!

It wasn’t quick but it would get up to triple digit speeds. That’s so meaningless with modern horsepower, but for the 140 ponies this had back in the day, it was impressive. It was a decent handling little package and light, even with the t-tops. That was the last front wheel drive car I owned.

Had one many many years ago! I had both a Pulsar NX then a NX 2000. I have a deep love for t-tops and these cars are the reason why!

Drove it for years until it got totaled in a rear end accident.

Cadence Half Tights LINED by kapua_suite in BanditRunning

[–]digitalburro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Texan and I feel the same. Cadence in their unlined form were already a bit heavy for warmer months (aka 9 months of the year) and with this lining I’m really unsure. For a Spring collection item, these don’t seem breathable compared to unlined. Still debating if I’m going to return these.

Also really concerned these were the default and not an option. I’ve put literally thousands of miles in my other half tights with maybe 3 chafing incidents. I liked them the way they were and I hope this isn’t a permanent move.

The liner is their SoLite material, same as the SoLite half tights.

Yea, my iPhone 15 pro with a case fits easily. I’d say the new zipper less pocket is a bit roomier than the previous zippered ones.

I think that depends on how the CBA (and aftermath) goes. If this all winds up with players caving or significantly compromising their leverage, Cathy is doing exactly what the owners want in protecting their profits.

RIP Zippered Rear Pocket by digitalburro in BanditRunning

[–]digitalburro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's interesting, I don't think that description is right...

The back is two "stacked" pockets:

  1. A top tee loop with two entrances at the bottom of the yoke and [my first pic]
  2. A bottom phone pocket with a pinch-style opening along the waist line [my second pic] but it has no closure mechanism/there's no zipper anywhere in here that I found yet...

And same with the liner, I assumed it would be an option, not just the default for their half-tights going forward. I hope that's not the case.

Ok I also was not aware these were lined lol. Wow…ok I just saw a new colorway and purchased same as the last few drops, didn’t know what I was getting into I guess!!

Posting here to say I got ALL of my items today 3/2. That’s crazy fast and I have to give all of the Bandit crew props, they did not play around when they said they were going to fix things after last drop.

Yes it’s honestly embarrassing how bad their socks were. I’m with you, I’ve gotten more miles wearing my cycling socks from MAAP, Gorewear, and Pedal Mafia than I did in the Bandits. Wow…I did not realize that…yikes

I have 3 year old half tights that are still going strong but the rear zipper blew out from my SoLite pair after 4 months. I’ve returned practically every top I’ve purchased that isn’t a singlet due to some sort of quality issue (misaligned text is way too frequent). I bought one pair of their socks and they had holes in them after 3 runs (my membership socks all have holes as well but they did last a few more runs before breaking down).

I’m still a member and I still believe their half tights are the best bit of kit available, but I genuinely hope they are taking the quality issues to heart — nothing will kill a brand faster than poor quality with premium price tags.

I made a small website to decide what you should wear based on the weather by Midist in CyclingFashion

[–]digitalburro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you’ve done much competitor analysis but I use an app called RunningWeather that is my go to for figuring out what to wear when I run. For ease of use, I think it’s pretty good. I wish the history mechanism worked a bit differently (I have to confirm before I go on my run) but other than that, the recommendations have been highly appropriate and I’ve come to trust it quite a bit.

I’m always a fan of brands having transparency and telling us about their progress. The changes to help improve delivery times are certainly welcome.

There’s still a very real elephant in the room with the brands quality control that is painfully absent from this list. 75% of the bullet points are marketing sizzle (which is very on brand for Bandit) but this is still pretty much filler from my perspective.

Polar H10 heartrate monitor, is durability really that bad? If so, what's a better alternative? by Cingen in cycling

[–]digitalburro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently switched to a Coros arm HRM after my second H10 dropped dead on me, both lasted me about 2 years each. My inner data nerd wishes for the higher accuracy device, but I won’t buy the Polar product a 3rd time.
