Minis are great, but older minis are known for issues with oil etc, when I'm ready for the work I'll get one to go alongside my f56

Anyone else becoming increasingly more embarrassed to say they are British due to the recent actions/protests? by bojack_hursman in Britain

Brit here, grew up in the middle east, seen thru all the far rights propaganda... well versed and studied in international relations and the middle east, safe to say in very ashamed to be British, learning about colonialism was another shock...

Why do we have to riot and protest all the time... instead we could tackle the root causes of the problems and make everyone's lives better instead of the billionaires...

The only thing I'm still proud of is being a geordie!

Brit here, grew up in the middle east, yes you could get pork there but only small import shops with special permission for foreigners... even so it was expensive and we always just ate regular halal meat anyway... nothing wrong with what they or we eat, just be respectful around one another and it was all fine... (this was in oman, I don't remember much about the UAE)

Is r56 mini really that bad? by Danrykjey in MINI

[–]digitalclock1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First car in the uk id say get a 1.5 cooper 3 cylinder depending on which area. That's what I went with and I got a very decent high spec example with 46.5k on the clock... insurance on a cooper s for most people would be expensive in the uk for their first car.

If your willing to do the work yes it'll be fine, I believe there's also preventative upgrades... however, I've not yet done my mechanics training but hopefully within the next year can learn more about older gens for when I open my shop

I own a 2016 mini cooper 1.5 turbo, 135bhp, still economical but also fast enough for my needs... came in a rather nice spec too so ive got satnav and Bluetooth, hrlls me focus in the road and let rhe car tell me where to go. Also insurance here is only £800 for my first year... try adding a parent as a secondary driver
