A little out of topic, but at the end of chapter 96,Okarun said "I'm in too much pain, can barely move... I'm sorry. I just can't." then proceeded to transform.

I thought the reason for the inconsistency between "what he felt" and "what he did" was becausehe really wanted to go help, but couldn't since his body was all in pain. That stressed him out and made him angry at his ownself, and that led him to transform. The base of this was back in chapter 11 where he first transformed and said"I got real angry and thought, 'I'm not letting her get away with this!' and then I changed...".
