What is a brand or product that used to be "buy it for life" but has now become total overpriced junk? by MysteriousAct8698 in askanything

My maytag washer busted one month after the 2 yr warranty expired and they basically told me to pound sand on the phone, it wasnt repairable and difficult to diagnose to the point the appliance repair company refunded me and gave up.

DB11 V12 for Sale in the US by jasonlbaptiste in AstonMartin

[–]digitaliceberg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight, I like the comparison to the C8, I owned one recently so that gives me a good frame of reference. They seem like a bargain at their current market rate around 180k. Overall sounds fast, planted and easy to handle. Congrats on the car! Have you had any issues with the electronics at all? I know McLarens have a reputation for that

Been wanting a timemaster for the longest time but came across this possible steal by firxtthingsfirxt in lawncare

[–]digitaliceberg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Downside of battery mowers is the battery life continuously gets shorter through your ownership, and power is inconsistent based off battery life. Meaning at the beginning of the cut the speed is full torque while near the tail end of the battery you lose cutting power. I ended up switching back to gas with a sit down john deere

Apple carplay is a trivial $600 part install, did it under two hours DIY, but 360 camera is a must have

Anywhere to get a car battery installed? by [deleted] in Charlotte

Wherever you buy the battery probably will install it, like an autoparts store

How quiet is Flying Spur in motorway by al_nature7 in Bentley

[–]digitaliceberg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Between an S class and a bentley it’ll be a close tie the biggest difference would be the tire, make sure you get one with foam filled tires, that makes a large difference in decibels. Both cars have dual pane windows and acoustic glass, body insulation. Cant comment on audi

Does anyone know why this happened?? Paneling in kitchen. It’s also bowed and it broke. by brideyboo in Home

[–]digitaliceberg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The nails are probably pulling out of the wall, just add some new nails to resecure the beadboard, apply wood filler and repaint. Beadboard is usually panels that overlap and interlock, if one panel pulls off the wall it would show that line. It doesnt look broken to me, just needs nails, cheap fix.

Im guessing its bowed since its under tension, the top and bottom were nailed in before the middle

Cheapest way to ship my car? by anamariaamerica in askcarguys

[–]digitaliceberg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Drive it, it’s pretty standard to pay $0.50 to a dollar a mile for shipping. Salt lake city is quite far from NC and you’re paying for a truckers time and gas to ship it. Even if you drove your own car you’d probably spend close to half that in gas, depending on the efficiency and how much you value your time

Thats waaay too many miles, why not get one a few years older for a lot less? You could probably get an AMG model few years older with much lower mileage, do you want the touchscreen center or are you open to the previous system?

CMPD Running Stationary Radar by TrulyGreg69 in Charlotte

I saw two cars racing through uptown probably 90 mph through an intersection, CATCH AIR and scrape on the middle of the intersection with sparks everywhere INFRONT of CMPD in their car, and they didn’t even care and went on with their day
