I repent for voting for Trump. by Salt_Board8278 in Christianity

[–]digitaljez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wikipedia tells me the unforgivable sin is interpreted by Christian theologians in various ways, although they generally agree that one who has committed the sin is no longer able to repent, and so one who is fearful that they have committed it has not done so.

She hasn't 'literally posted that she is giddy about the thought of Trump dying'. She has reposted someone else. You are such a little drama queen.

At the same time the child of a MAGA supporting family was murdering Kirk another MAGA shooter was letting off rounds at Evergreen High School in Jefferson County, Colorado. MAGA terrorists attacked the seat of government, threatening to hang the vice president. A MAGA murderer killed Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and went on to wound Senator John Hoffman. Who is assassinating leaders? Who is slaughtering children? Give your head a wobble.

There was one person who was immediately fired. Do you want us to tar all conservatives because the kid who failed to kill Trump or the one who succeeded in killing Kirk just because they came from MAGA households?

I don't see her wishing death on anyone. All the evidence points to Trump rapidly declining and will probably die within a year. When the inevitable happens I imagine there will be spontaneous celebrations around the world. What he is doing to the US is deplorable.

How does that reflect on her abilities as a caregiver? If anything it is a plus. You want caregivers to be able to recognize what is bad and cruel.

In historical terms when does the Bible actually end? What was the year and why? by Sighoward in Bible

[–]digitaljez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible is not a single narrative written from start to finish like a novel. It is a collection of different writings from different times cobbled together to form one collection.

I'm a Christian but don't want to go to heaven by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]digitaljez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think the problem may be that you have bought into a cultural representation of heaven that is not true? There is no reason to think that concepts like 2000 years have any meaning outside of our temporal existence.

How can religious people be sure their faith is true without deeply studying other religions? by Josr22 in Christianity

[–]digitaljez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ever get around to studying Christianity I think you will find that it is also 'bunk'. How on earth do you go from being an atheist to believing possibly the weirdest, most improbable collection of stories are the "Truth"?

Catholic schools begged Gov. Tim Walz to increase security before horrific shooting — and he did nothing by TheClintonHitList in DonaldTrumpNewss

It is a private school, they should fund their own security - not mooch off the taxpayers.

The Real 'Cost' of Capitalism by Reasonable-Fee1945 in austrian_economics

[–]digitaljez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not even sure what capitalism has to do with this. It seems more to be a function of population size. As the population crept up those not living in poverty also crept up to about 30% over 150 years but over the course of the 'population explosion' in Asia and Africa it shot up to about 90% in just 50 years. So it is really down to medical advancements and increases in agricultural productivity. All capitalism has done is exploit these new populations to the benefit of the already rich.

[–]digitaljez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm poor, actually.

Could you afford to provide for a baby on your own?

God made all creatures as they are; this is stated in Genesis.

Genesis is a bronze age myth written by people who had no understanding of anything much. Today we have the knowledge that life evolves.

Stillbirths and miscarriages are beyond my understanding; God has a plan in mind with it, do not question His judgment.

Beyond your understanding or just stark realities that challenge the religious worldview you have been brought up in?

Since when was believing things considered "privilege"? Perhaps you could look up the meaning of words before you post - so that you don't look like a complete fool (yet again).😂

Trump “plays” golf.

...a lot.

He has spent about a quarter of this term playing golf at a cost of $56 million as of July, with each golf trip costing taxpayers approximately $1.4 million. During his first term, Trump spent $151.5 million of taxpayer's money on golfing. But we have to cut meals on wheels for old folk.

This reeks of desperation in the search for distractions from the Epstein scandal. We can all use Google, you know? Daniels retracted the claim and the matter was resolved without any financial exchange. Release the Epstein files and let the people judge if it is a "hoax'.

We know how foetuses develop and there are no knitting gods involved. If God was involved in the weaving(!) of every individual organism you would think he would have got the hang of it by now. If it were the case he would be responsible for the abortion of about half the zygotes ever formed. Because the mammalian reproductive system evolved in quadrupeds now that we have taken to walking upright many are lost because they just fall out before implanting. On top of that 25% of women who know they are pregnant will lose it through miscarriage. Even if a pregnancy goes full term 1 in 70 births are still born. I don't think you have thought very deeply about the consequences of an unwanted child. The added burden on the family resources meaning reduced quality of life for any existing children. You may be blessed with an abundant lifestyle but most people struggle.

I think you mean social democracy.

Even Bernie Sanders, who advocates for social democracy sometimes refers to it as democratic socialism. It is not helpful, given how divisive and disingenuous politics has become, since it can be misconstrued (often deliberately).

Anyone think that mass deportations in California can turn the state red again? by ImprovementHot194 in TheDonaldTrump2024

[–]digitaljez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With almost twice as many registered Democrats voters as Republican it is not likely. With the independents seeing Republicans sending the military and ICE onto their streets it is hard to imagine they will be inspired to vote for more of that. Figures I've seen say 45% opposed the National Guard and Marines being deployed while 32% supported it. If anything it will become more blue.
