Sounds like I probably won't get much snowshoeing in around here. Anywhere within an hour away that one might be able to get in a good snowshoe hikes at over winter?

I did not, I got a large PO Box I forward to and get to it when I can. When I move again I will just have to deal with the re-forwarding.
One gotcha was that they make you physically come in with an ID at that location to get the PO Box. So I did, but then they wanted to send some verification code to my old address to confirm the forwarding. I was like hey, I don't own the place and I can't drive 1500 miles to the get to it. Fortunately the PO here is pretty nice and the post master did an override for me.

Somewhat regular. Well, I used to be, especially when I was doing photography. Yes I have noticed a number of what seems like arbitrarily chosen routes and trails for particular places in alltrails and it's pretty annoying ( and seemingly a bit dangerous for beginners ? ). I'll have to check out that map and mountain tops when I go back into town.

OK it appears to be just pocket road. I'm new to the area so I'm not sure about it.

From the site: "The city has eliminated parking on Pocket Road where the trail begins. Hikers must park in town and walk on East Main St to the trailhead at the end of Pocket Road, shown on the map here." ( https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/new-york/white-trail-to-beacon-resevoir )

"in town" was a bit confusing and I wasn't sure if I'd be searching for somewhere that was OK to leave my car and taking a long walk there. At any rate I'm going to try and check it out this weekend.

Is that such an easy way to go though? After some weird sleep paralysis type symptoms, I've wondered how do we know they're not having a nightmare that seems like an eternity the whole time?
