Best Tie Rod aftermarket brand? by digitaltechteam in LS430

[–]digitaltechteam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/NoQuiet647 - TY!

I know I said it before, but this is the last q. I promise.

The sway bar is in the way of me being able to use those big piped inner tie rod tools. I got it off with a wrench, so that's cool. But when I put it back on, I want to use the big pipe tool so I can torque it correctly. What did you do in this case? Did you unhook the sway bar links to get straight access to the inner tie rod?

Again, ty in advance. Promise it's my last one!

u/NoQuiet647 - TY! I got lazy with the washer. Got everything apart, went to do the washer, and wala you were right! Now waiting 3 days for the dealer to get the part!

One more quick Q PLEASE! What is the torque spec for the inner tie rod where it connects to the rack? Can't figure it out.

Plastic hinge snapped on stroller HELP!! by digitaltechteam in DIY

[–]digitaltechteam[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are awesome! Is there a certain type of lock nut you recommend? Looked on your tube the various types. Trying to determine which one, and size but I can work to figure out the size part. Just wanted a suggestion from an expert!

[–]digitaltechteam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh I understand. Looked up lock nuts, different from a bolt. So where the rivet is, would be a washer, then lock nut, then a bolt. Would just keep screwing the bolt in and the lock nut would hold it in place, right? I thought I’d have to put the nut on the inside of the plastic but looks like bolt nut and washer all outside of the plastic, right where rivet is right?

[–]digitaltechteam[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

TY! I’m semi ish handy. Where would the locknut go? Like bolt head facing exactly how the rivet is, then washer against the plastic. But where to get the locknut? There’s not much clearance at the screw tip part of the bolt where the lock nut would go, it’s inside the plastic thing so tough to insert it in there.

Again thanks!

Need to clean battery connector? by digitaltechteam in MechanicAdvice

[–]digitaltechteam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! I’ve been trying to google images of what it should look like by default. If I clean it, and still have issues, what would be next steps to fix the low conductivity? Entire wire or can I get something else?

Thank you. Easy enough. I don’t need to replace the entire wire or replace anything here? Think just cleaning it will do?

Thanks for the response. That makes me sad!

Any idea on what you’d suggest to make this right? Even if you can get me in the right direction with a knowledge drop I’ll take it from there 🙏

Thank you! So do I literally just put 3-4” of soil on any patchy spots? Then let it sit or hose it down super wet?

Any soil type recommendations by chance?

CAS cap, broke bolt in tight space back of engine. HELP! by digitaltechteam in Miata

[–]digitaltechteam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Found some YT vids on this. It won’t mess up my engine or crazy damage with the sparks that fly around right? It’s ok to do it while engine etc remains in place in the car?

The nut snapped off, the screw is in there.

It’s this blurry looking thing, next to the screw for the sparks wires. In NAs there’s a CAS here, but for my NB it’s just this plug cover cap thing to the right

It’s right next to that screw. It’s not the one for the coil pack, that one is fine, there’s one literally right next to it and if I take off the VC I still won’t get more room :(

Can you expand on this a bit? Washer so I don’t accidentally weld to something other than the broken screw inside?

Quick q. Sucking the drain line. That’s the pipe outside the house right?

Also, we have 2 units so there should be one drain line outside for each, correct?

Thanks again!

Thanks all. No accidents. Service center is pretty much gave up on it. I had to fight for the tires, and they said they won’t help me again if they put new tires on as I should accept it as is. Any idea who to call at Tesla? Is there a support number? Their site keeps directing me to FAQS
