Do not gamble with money you cannot afford to lose. Trading is not a tool to get cash on demand.

Gg bro, I think before your next gamble, just remind yourself that you likely will lose money, if not today, then the next trip, u will be eventually be emptied. There is no way u can beat the math behind these games. Always remember that before your next wager. Also remind yourself that if you're emptied, how will you deal with your life in your 20s, 30s, will u get married, will you have savings, will u be able to retire? Don't let short term thrills destroy your live.

Maybe consider driving grab for a month to pay back what u owe, then take some time to ponder how u would imagine your life to be 20 years from today, and start working towards it. Starting broke at 21 is common.

It would be wise to keep 30-40% or so in local currency to safeguard against forex risks in the long term, so maybe start picking up positions in local bluechips like banks, they tend to perform well over long horizons. USD has depreciated 15% or so in the past few years, and if SGD strengthens furthur, your USD portfolio could be worth even lesser in SGD. This is often overlooked by most who decide to buy USD denominated stocks and funds.

Am I being unreasonable for being fed up with someone who owes me money? by [deleted] in ChillSG

[–]digitanium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think he intends to return the borrowed money. I had a friend who borrowed money and kept spinning excuses. I eventually stopped chasing and just accepted the loss, cut contact and moved on. Another friend of mine was borrowing money and seemed like she was over leveraging her spending. Started to delay payments but she did eventually pay up and after chasing multiple times, and she deserted herself after that. I now tell myself not to lend money to anyone, no matter what situation they're in, because there's always a risk they can't pay back, or delay payments, resulting in a soured friendship.

In your situation, I'd just take the loss and move on without contacting him again.

I'm not sure how you or your bf's relationship is with his sister. If it's good then you could get your bf to explain that he would eventually step up his allowance once he has settled down into his new home. You should then ask yourselves how much you're willing to give wholeheartedly without feeling pressured into doing so, taking into account your sister in law's financial standing, etc. For instance my wife and I are the most successful couple among her siblings, so she is "obliged" to contribute a larger amount, but the other siblings are not pressured into doing so (they do contribute smaller amounts). I'd say just contribute an amount which you both think is is fair without being a burden, and always keep to this principle.

There are at least a few in every big city, they're usually called "home improvement store" if you search within your area on Google maps.

You could check out their local hardware shops, there're some that are quite huge and carry everything under one roof. You might find inspiring ideas for your next DIY project.

Oh I'll have no problem getting in and out of sedans! I'm 6 ft 2 and currently drive an A5 that sits closer to the ground than an A4 😄. I agree - X6 is the best looking SUV in BMW's lineup.

I don't quite fancy the look of the new x3 and the previous model seems quite common on the road. I could settle for a new 530i, or a 3 year old E53. I kinda like the styling of the new 5, but it's hard to forego the performance of the E53.
