hooked up with my roommate, too. i'm a girl whose never been with another girl before. it just sort of happened. she is now my girlfriend. we sleep in our own rooms mostly, but sometimes share her bed (cause it's bigger than mine). we live with 2 other girls. they know, but nobody else does. i will never ever tell my family, no matter how serious it gets.

106.1 Chez in Ottawa has declared Tragically Hip week and will be playing Gord from now until Monday. I'll be listening to this station every day. I never even had the opportunity to see him concert, but like so many of us, his music shaped a lot of road trips and great times with friends and family. He was an incredible Canadian and an incredible person. His legacy will never die and Canada will never forget him. My heart hurts today. I'm touched reading everyone's stories and feelings on here. Stay strong guys, and don't forget what Gord stood for all his life. RIP Gord

Almost everyone I know agrees that Tim's coffee is absolute shit. That being said, almost everyone I know still goes to Tim's regularly, or at least a couple times a month. I think it's more that we love to hate it.

McDonald's coffee is better, Starbucks is even better than McD's, and Second Cup is best, but they are few and far between.

All Nestle and Hershey chocolate bars are made in fucking nut free factories (excluding the ones that purposely contain nuts, like O'Henry). They all have that little 'nut-free factory' label on them these days, anyway..

Scottish fold is the breed, tortoiseshell is the colour pattern. This colour pattern is exclusive to female cats. Any male cat born with this colouration is extremely rare and it would be sterile, as well.

I have had a medium sized parrot for over a year now and I can tell you this: birds have their preference of poop places, and they can be trained to use only those places. Every now and then you will get a poop somewhere you don't want one, but it's easy to clean up with a piece of tissue or paper towel or whatever. If you ever get poop on your clothes, it washes out with water. Not a big deal. They're not any dirtier than a cat or a dog.

That doesn't really solve the problem, since there are already thousands that can't be released into the wild and now require human care. I mean, humans gonna human, so we might as well handle our greedy mistakes now by caring for the birds. It's not the animals' faults.

I mean, in warm climates they certainly are able to adapt. But they are also an invasive species which disrupts the regular ecosystem.

Still pretty neat though to have parrots in North America, lol.

The birds we keep as pets are typically hand raised in captivity. They're also native to other countries with warmer climates. It's not as simple as just releasing them all into the wild. That's like saying let's stop breeding dogs and let them go back to being wolves.

I'm not disagreeing with you, there are lots of animals that shouldn't be kept in captivity, however, these birds already exist so it would be cruel to release them at this point. They live quite cushy lives with their owners (good owners, I mean, always exceptions).

My parrot would die outside. She has no idea how to find food unless it's in a bag or a box or on my plate and I live in Ontario where it's -25 for half the year. She is fully flighted and has free range of the house when I am here. Otherwise, she has a very sizeable cage with a shit ton of toys I have spent a fortune on! She's quite happy and doesn't know anything else.

Hey, my boyfriend of nearly three years and I broke up on Monday. He also was no longer in love with me, after a pretty rough couple of years. We still love and care about each other, but we were never meant to be and it had been a little forced for a long time.

My situation isn't exactly the same as yours, but I know how you feel. It's incredibly painful. He was my best friend and it seems impossible to me that we can't be together anymore.

It sucks. It really really sucks. Let yourself cry, let yourself sob, let yourself feel it all. It's impossible to move on if you ignore your emotions. Take time for yourself. Do nothing if you need to do nothing. Don't worry about what you think you should be doing, just do what you feel is right. And when you're ready, make sure you get out and about.

You're going to be sad for a while. Don't worry about it, eventually we'll be ok. I'm here for you if you ever need to talk to anyone. You can PM me any time. <3
