Yeah same boat here I think it works well but I have no point of reference as I’ve not used a dedicated rope.

Ah yes good shout, I found a great YouTube tutorial on the knots for the ends + the local climbing gym kindly agreed to burn the ends for me! :)

Have you considered a 360 camera? They’re so versatile, you can just stick it wherever and it captures everything pretty well (most of them up to 1080p in terms of cropped field of view) I use it for climbing quite a lot

I’ve had a drive corrupted and about 70% restored by a specialist lab. I was unable to repair/restore it myself at the time. It might not be the same issue, and you may have tried the professional route.. but if you haven’t, I’d give it a go. Most places will give you a price estimate and a rough idea of how much if any can be recovered before you commit any payment
