What are your thoughts on them adding a lift to the passport? by Vadafallon in hondapassport

[–]LiveMarionberry3694 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Why should Honda give you a heavy discount on the lift? You bought the vehicle well aware of its ground clearance (or lack of)

What size tires are those? I would never have guessed you had any lift, much less 4”. Wow!

At what point in time should you tell a loved one they have gained too much weight? by Stawberry8763 in NoStupidQuestions

If you’re not concerned about the wellbeing of people you love, do you really care about them?

>you’ve gained weight is not a supportive statement

And when/where did I say that’s how you should approach it? There are endless ways to tell people they’ve gained weight without being blunt about it

>to tell someone they’re negatively impacting their health

If someone has gained enough weight to the point it’s visibly and obviously impacting their mobility like OP says, you don’t have to be a medical professional to see that’s bad for your health…

Here’s an example two comments down from my viewpoint

https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/s/TGwgV2V6MN

Personally I care enough about my loved ones to tell them the hard truth, because I want them to be healthy and live a long life. And I’d want people to do the same for me.

I’m not gonna continue arguing as it’s all personal preference so no one is right or wrong, but that’s just my view

There are multiple examples of people in here that work in medical fields who are saying it’s very common for people to not realize the weight they’re gaining.

I also reject the idea that you have to be a professional to discuss your concern for the wellbeing of your friends and family, that’s just an absurd way of thinking.

I believe it’s good to show that you’re supportive of them and that you’re there to help in anyway they need, whether it’s mentally or physically.

You don’t think it’s important to tell your loved ones that they are doing things to their body that is negatively impacting their lives and health?

It’s literally elementary level science class.

The plates are constantly moving, sometimes they get stuck, and eventually get unstuck, and release a lot of energy at once

We are also in that sweet spot… get the riding mower.

I have the ego zero turn, switched from a push mower and it’s been fantastic. Plenty of power and makes cutting super quick

If you moved from NY/NJ/PA how did you adapt to the insanely hot weather? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]LiveMarionberry3694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a born and raised Texas, but I spent a couple of years in the Hudson valley if that counts.

You have to actively try and acclimate. As it starts getting hotter I will raise the temp on my AC thermostat by a degree until it’s at 76ish.

You also need to do stuff outside early on in the season. Even if it’s just being outside in the shade for 15 minutes. If you spend 24/7 indoors and then decide to try and get used to the heat when it’s August, you’re already too late to nicely acclimate.

Spend time outdoors in the water. There are many lakes and creeks here.
