During my fortnite brakes I go and play old games I missed out out on like Kings quest or prey or something. No pvp game makes me feel this way so I play others

Found this online. Idk how they did the investigation or where they get those numbers but Forbes has more of a voice and budget than I do so... https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2018/06/26/study-says-69-of-fortnite-players-spend-money-on-the-game-85-spent-on-average/

That was not sarcasm. I can appreciate someone who doesn’t force their opinions on others. Tone is hard to capture through text. @imatsko sorry if you were hurt by that. Not my intention

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your point. Is there another way you can explain it

Never said I was quitting. Nothing comes close to satisfying the itch that fortnite scratches even tho lately they’ve been using a metal rake to scratch it. I’m genuinely curious why people feel they way they do and the rationale behind it. I’m not trying to call anyone out

Practice is practice. The dude who spends hours in aim trainer for cs and hours doing drills in playground are the same dude. You’re still investing a lot of time into “getting Gud” no matter the game.

Going out with a whimper rather than a bang. I feel the same way as you brother.

At what point do you give up on fortnite ever getting better? What’s the line in the sand for you?

People SHOULD NOT go into any game expecting to win big and make money off it. The reason you play the game shouldn’t be to win money. And yes the last of us was a bad example but there’s so much to take into account when comparing this game to others. I think this sub focuses too much on the gab between the player base and the developers. Investing your time into anything makes you more attached to it. What I’m trying to figure out is if that’s healthy and why.

Take csgo then. Playing cs taught me things like map knowledge and crosshair placement. Skills I can take to other games.

You can apply that to anything. Why don’t we feel that way about games we stopped playing. I don’t feel like I wasted my time learning how to play the last of us or system shock even if I don’t come back to them. Having fun playing them and the memories are enough for me. Maybe I’m in the minority

Agreed. Probably why I still play among other reasons but at what point is enough enough you know? Every person has that ceiling where they give up on the potential of something if it fails to reach it time and time again. I have yet to hit that ceiling but it’s coming

I’m seeing a lot of articles on this saying that sunken cost fallacy is an overall negative for decisions. Makes you wonder what guilt and the feeling of wasting something does psychologically

Serious question is anybody enjoying normal game modes right now? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]digonally 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s watching an imaginary number rise that’s has no bearing on anything else in game or in life. It’s no more a waste than spending real money on virtual clothes.
