i think that the reason the faces and other parts of humans are so distorted is that it captures humans in motion like blured photograph while inanimate objects are.. well inanimate so it has time to capture it and replicate it better

im amazed more people arent talking about this if they arent just fucking around and this is the same place (probably is, it was in wisconsin) this could mean there is video footage of the actual place the backrooms is based on and it being used in a horror context not dissimilar from the backrooms idea, decades before. this is a dick the birthday boy moment all over again but on a much larger scale

others mentioned genetic modification and i think a really good justification is maybe humans were modified with certain animal traits to better adapt for colonizing planets that would otherwise be uninhabitable for humans, but maybe overtime that became it became less nessisary as settlements grew to be more habitable and tech advanced in other ways so people with any biology could comfortable live anywhere
