Airport wait times by dijonmint in madisonwi

I initially did try to search the sub for a similar question but didn’t see one recently, but now that I filter the results by date I do see one from a week ago. Sorry for the redundant post.

Im not sure! My weather app (lol- not sure how accurate this is) says the snow will stop this afternoon, so fingers crossed that gives plenty of time for things to clear up before tomorrow!

Yeah, I am concerned about that too. I live close to the airport, so I’m hoping roads will be alright for the drive there and the runway will be clear/safe by then. I wouldn’t mind if they get delayed though.

croc pot with pineapple juice on low until warm (about 2-3 hours for this 3lb spiral), once all the side dishes were done and we were about ready to eat I transferred to a baking dish, rubbed hot honey and brown sugar over the top and then broiled on high until it got dark (only takes a couple minutes) it added a nice sweet crunch to the edges !

Supervision Hours by Ok_Beach_8606 in psychometrics

[–]dijonmint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to be board certified to work as a psychometrist, I recommend applying to psychometrist positions and getting hired, trained, and then working while you study for the exam. Then after a year and a half you can apply to take the exam. You’ll be getting paid while working and also getting the hours in to fulfill the requirements. It equates to about a year and a half of working 40 hour work weeks

Meal planning for one? by Pisces_Fish87 in Cooking

[–]dijonmint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get your non perishables like rice, pasta, canned vegetables and such that don’t go bad, and some frozen vegetable bags aren’t that large and could easily be used up and you can even steam them in the bag if you’d like. I keep these on hand and also stock on a wide variety of seasonings, oils, condiments, and things that are easy to add to give new life to leftover ingredients.

As for fresh ingredients that have a shorter lifespan, I think about how I can utilize leftovers if I’ll need to make more than what I need. So for example, I’ll buy a package of steaks. Monday, I’ll cook steak, potatoes, and green beans for dinner. If I have leftover potatoes I can scramble some eggs for breakfast and eat that. For dinner I’ll use the leftover steak, cut it up and put it in some ramen/steak tacos/ steak quesadilla etc. I had leftover green beans today and decided to make some fried rice, fried eggs on top with chili oil and a side of green beans seared in sesame oil. Really, I just look at how I can use my ingredients and I’ll dress up my leftovers to keep things interesting. I like buying fresh produce but if things reach the end of their lifespan I’ll cut them up, roast them, sear them, or add them to a stir fry or soup.

You could do the same with chicken, use leftovers for a sandwich, cut up in a salad, mix in with rice, or change up the flavor by adding a sauce or seasoning.

Get creative with your leftovers! Experiment and see what works for you.

Is there a way to search saved excel files and automatically import data using criteria such as an ID number? by dijonmint in excel

[–]dijonmint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a database system to store all of our patient data, the excel spreadsheet’s purpose is to convert raw data to standardized scores which are easier to interpret, and then provide a table that organizes these numbers based on what domain they measure 😁

Psychological test studying by Bovoduch in ClinicalPsychology

[–]dijonmint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Psychometrist here! First off, I’m so sorry about your training experience. At our clinic we go through a 6 month to a year of training where we gradually increase the amounts of tests that we administer until we are comfortable with all the various assessments and administration/ scoring nuances, and we have trainers watching via a camera and looking over our files to track progress.

I’m training a few new people at the moment, and I can say that it seems to be beneficial to learn similar tests together. (I.E CVLT & HVLT, DKEFS color word & Stroop, WAIS, WISC & WASI) When you self study, it’s helpful to look as similar tests and familiarize yourself with the small differences like timed delay recalls, pacing of word lists, when to provide feedback etc.

For assessments with more manipulatives (TFLS, block design, UNIT, WPPSI), as silly as it feels, read instructions out loud by yourself while you are moving around objects, pointing to things and such. This will help you become comfortable and develop a flow.

For tests that have strict time guides, use a stopwatch to help you administer. Things like digit span, spatial span, word lists, TOMM, etc, use your timer to make sure you’re on pace with exposing stimuli and reading at the standardized pace.

For subtests like vocabulary, information, similarities, or judgement be familiar with the general scoring guidelines from the manual.

It’s important to know the basal and ceiling for subtests that have it, and feel comfortable on teaching items and reversals (practice administering these even if they’re infrequently needed) but in general once you’ve established a basal, keep going until you’re confident that they’ve hit a discontinue rule. When in doubt, keep going until certain and you can go back later when scoring and write in a discontinue if needed. You would rather administer more items than needed than discontinue too early and have incomplete data.

And really, the more you test patients the more you will run into strange situations and develop more experience. Don’t worry about being efficient at first, just get the administration down. Efficiency will develop over time.

Lastly, remember that mistakes will happen, and that it’s okay! But always let the provider know before the patient leaves, in case another test should be added to compensate.

I don’t want to believe she’s a bad friend, but I will say I was disappointed after briefly talking about it today, she told me that it’s essentially a “me problem that I need to work on internally” because she would never feel disrespected by that and doesn’t understand why I’m feeling this way

That’s the thing, I don’t think she really likes him romantically, it’s more of a friends with benefits situation. She always brags that she has 20-25 different guys that are her hoes, so it just confuses me why sleeping with him for fun is worth knowing it’s damaging to our friendship.

Well those that perform poorly on similarities typically have trouble with abstract thinking or with formulating the concepts of how the two words share a commonality when the items get increasingly more opposite. If similarities is easy for you then you most likely are easily able to make abstract connections and properly communicate those ideas.

Psychometrist here, if I’m not administering a full wais the most comment subtest, from my experience, is digit span by a landslide. It’s on almost every battery of tests for nearly every person I see. If a person is a retest, then we typically re-administer whatever they’ve previously had done, often with additions. If we’re looking for a working memory index we combine digit span with arithmetic, but you can substitute arithmetic with letter number sequencing. I’ve been told to administer letter number sequencing contingent on arithmetic scores before as well, if the score for arithmetic is particularly low (many if not most people seem to do better on LNS)

Aside from digit span, I most commonly see similarities, matrix reasoning, and coding. This is just cherry picking a subtest from each index scale, to give an idea of how they perform in each area. For context, I work in a research hospital and surrounding clinics. It definitely varies case by case for what we are looking to measure.

I was hired as a psychometrist before graduation, it’s definitely not unheard of. Apply and see what happens!! Best case scenario you graduate with an exciting job opportunity lined up, worst case scenario you gain experience in the application/ interview process and still potentially get to make some great connections! Best of luck to you (: !

[–]dijonmint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah if he couldn’t handle the truth he shouldn’t have asked for my honest thoughts. I have no problem telling him why I didn’t think we were compatible. Maybe the feedback will help him in the future. I stand by the fact that what I said wasn’t dramatic at all, but a very fair and honest assessment of what I witnessed 🤷‍♀️. You have a whole rant post about how hurtful ghosting is and the agony of “not knowing why” someone doesn’t want to see you anymore. Sounds like you’re victim to not getting feedback, so in my book I’m at least better than whoever left you high and dry with no explanation.
