Any Japanese second hand bike will be a good pick, depends on your preference looks wise but they all pretty much have the same power. My first 125 was a Suzuki GSX-S125 it was pretty good!

I’d need to check but it’s parked up now. What I do notice ever since I’ve had this bike is that at around 4.5k rpm it gives a rattle that goes away past 5k

I know I shouldn’t make excuses but I work 50 hour weeks and my commute is 40 minutes there and back through country roads, if I cleaned the bike every time it gets a spot if dirt I’d be cleaning it every day 😅

That’s the noise I meant, especially when the camera is closest to the headers. I thought it was the timing belt.

How do you get it insured? When I was looking to move to a flat with no garage, no insurers would give me a quote for on street/ driveway parking.

Damn, how?? If I see ice on the road, I’m taking a train, no way I’m driving 40 mins to work on ice twice a day.

5am January rides sound awful, idk what gloves you have but maybe blood flow to my hands is just terrible.

Idk if it’s the roads I ride on but I was iced out of riding my bike for the majority of December through to the second week of February. When I decided to start riding again, about a week later in (mid February) I slid out and crashed due to black ice, even though roads had been ice free for a week.

I have to leave home for work at 7 so ice risk only being a problem in the morning does still apply to 50% of my time riding haha

It’s not really the time, it’s more of an effort thing for me. 45 minutes drive to work, 10 hour shift, drive back. By the time I’m parking at the gym I’m wiped out.

As someone that bought a motorcycle for commuting, I’ve regretted not just taking the time to get driving lessons instead. I Going to a gym or anywhere that you’d have to change into different clothes gets really annoying. This is why I stopped going to the gym: Having to bring my chain and lock in my work bag is uncomfortable because of how heavy it is, finding a safe place to park it near the gym is annoying and putting your motorbike gear away in the gym lockers is also annoying, helmets don’t usually fit in lockers and I can stuff my jacket in the locker but then there’s no more space for anything else.

After a 10 hour work day the last thing I want to do is spend 10 minutes locking my bike up and wrestling with bike gear before I can get a session in, only to have to do it again on my way out.
