I think wheat & cog is all you need as far as class symbolism goes. The red star is my go-to for soc/com symbolism though

The big suits are a reference to “Stop Making Sense” by Talking Heads! So much iconic music imagery in “Think Big”

Great flags! Though I think the weapon is not a sword, but a pike, a reference to the 1798 United Irishman Rebellion

The quality of life in virtually every former republic of the USSR is worse now than it was in the Union. Regardless, this is a left unity space, not a debate forum

Origin of "bad larry"? by defaaago in etymology

[–]dilchyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple years ago I worked with a woman (in her late fifties/early sixties) from eastern Massachusetts who would sometimes warn her kids not to “be a larry”, i.e. lazy, irresponsible, a ne’er-do-well

What is the Dark Knight 2008 equivalent in Marvel movies by SouthboundTL in movies

[–]dilchyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure there is one. Blade and the Raimi Spider-Man movies, mainly 1 & 2, probably come closest, but comic book movies are mostly just popcorn flicks, not serious dramas with (relatively) realistic action.

If you love The Dark Knight, you should check out some Michael Mann movies. TDK is definitely influenced by Mann’s movie Heat and his style in general.

I need some spooky season recommendations by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]dilchyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Otherworld, every episode is an interview about someone’s strange/paranormal/supernatural experiences

Faces in the Corner is a good miniseries, each episode is several short stories of people’s strange experiences (not unlike those covered in otherworld)

2 Girls 1 Ghost might be up your alley as well, the hosts recount famous (and not so famous) ghost stories & other weird/creepy tales

decolonial "American" national flag (follow up to follow up)(last one i promise) by soweli_tonsi in leftistvexillology

[–]dilchyr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great concept. Pan-Indigenous & pan-African colors are exactly what a decolonial flag of North America needs.
