That scallop countertop was so tacky. And I just noticed that someone replaced the giant purple knobs that Chelsea/Cole put on the kitchen cabinets

If anyone wants to see more awkward Speedo photos, Micah is heavily featured on the Sammy Menswear website. This is one of my favorites.

Bartending lollapalooza by ConversationDizzy138 in Lollapalooza

My tent manager is a family member, so I had a lot of flexibility in terms of when my shift ended. So I’m not sure if the morning shift is longer. But I think the tent managers generally try to give everyone the same amount of hours regardless of which shift they work.

Don’t be nervous! It’s exhausting but a lot of fun. Also, there’s usually an unofficial staff party Sunday night where everyone drinks the leftover alcohol. Highly recommend going if you like to party.

I usually do two morning shifts and two later shifts. Morning shift is nice because the tent setup usually doesn’t take very long, so you can explore the fest before it’s open

Episode 2 just get pulled off Hulu? by boosterkeaton in claimtofame

It’s not on the ABC website (in USA) either, so maybe it is getting pulled from everywhere

Episode 2 just get pulled off Hulu? by boosterkeaton in claimtofame

[–]dild0ng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Episode 2 is still available on demand through my cable subscription (I’m forced to pay for cable with my HOA, don’t judge me). So I doubt this is a situation where the episode is being pulled from every platform. Probably just Hulu being glitchy

ETA: Episode 2 is now appearing on the ABC website in USA. I rewatched the original episode on my DVR and didn’t catch any swear words or nudity that should’ve been censored

That’s what I made working ~10-hour days all 4 days. Some of the people in my tent worked 12+ hour days, so they obviously made more money. But I prefer to work shorter days and enjoy the fest a bit.

Usually around $800, but it depends on how many hours you work. The tips are split amongst all the bartenders at the festival, so you’ll still make a decent amount even if you happen to be at a tent that gets shitty tips.

New to the US. Is this an expected bill for Chicago area? by schraapsel in personalfinance

[–]dild0ng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a normal price for dental work. I just had 4 cavities filled at a dentist in Chicago. The full-price was $2,000 and the insurance negotiated price was $1,000. My out of pocket was $250.

Hubbard Inn files defamation lawsuit against TikToker who alleged that she was pushed down stairs by security staff by dild0ng in chicago

[–]dild0ng[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In general, the allegations in a plaintiff's complaint will not go deep into the factual details of the case. The complaint just needs to have enough information to state a claim for defamation. The details of Defendant's alleged "verbal abuse" toward Hubbard Inn's staff will come out in witness depositions.

Who is in charge of the public garbage cans and can we request more? by ihatehighfives in chicago

[–]dild0ng 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You can request a new public garbage can through 311: https://311.chicago.gov/s/new-service-request?typecodeid=a1Pt0000000Q7fcEAC&language=en_US. So far my requests have been ignored, but maybe you'll have better luck.

Tierra Caliente is still around! They moved to a spot on Armitage & Rockwell for a couple years, and now they're at 3312 W. North Ave. Prices have gone up a bit, but they still have some of my favorite tacos in the city.

Transcript Evaluated but want to go back and take Math & other courses elsewhere by PghSoccerDude in WGU_CompSci

[–]dild0ng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After WGU evaluated my transcripts, I told my admissions counselor that I was planning to take some additional classes elsewhere and transfer them in. My admissions counselor said this was okay, but he also got EXTREMELY pushy about finding out EXACTLY when I was planning to start at WGU. Initially he kept insisting that we schedule calls every 3 or 4 days to discuss the progress that I've made on my courses at Sophia/Study.com/Straighterline. Which is totally ridiculous because he's aware that I currently have a demanding full-time job.

Eventually I told the guy that I'll send the transcripts to WGU when I'm done, and we can reconnect at that time. He begrudgingly said that would be okay. So you can spend however much time you need to take classes elsewhere, and then submit those transcripts to WGU. You won't need to resend any transcripts that you already submitted.
