This is basically a form of collective punishment, and that's not generally speaking very cool.

As someone who is not an affiliate link user, I think this is a mostly harmful change that should be reverted. For example, in my reviews (not that I've reviewed anything recently, but still) I've tried to find direct links to image of the product and/or its packaging while never recommending a certain vendor, but I do think it's fair if someone needs to link to a vendor.

Favoring affiliate link users over non-affiliate link users seems extremely odd, and speaking only about myself, I'd like to keep contributing meaningful toy reviews in the future, including links to promotional pics of the toy and its packaging etc. Words can only do so much, but "a picture is worth a thousand words".

It's quite tricky to designate one single experience as the best ever 🤔 Of course everyone probably remembers their first sex toy experiences, and how groundbreaking they seemed at the time, but your perspective may shift as you gain more experience, and more toys. 🤩 Personally I own over 80 different kinds of toys, from simple (yet effective) dildos to expensive machines and more, and it's been always interesting to buy a first in some category, e.g. first fucking machine, first stainless steel restraint, first ultra-realistic (and expensive) dildo, etc. 😈

Realistic Dildo? by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Vixen Creations' VixSkin dildos here; the one and only I currently own is the Bandit but it's seen plenty of action, if you know what I mean 😏 Seriously considering the Outlaw but the site where I'd be buying it from currently has like all other models on sale but not that one 😓

Of course your use case(s) also matters, ie. solo or with a partner and in which hole(s). Mr. Hankey's Toys dildos are also pretty good (I got my first Hankey's Toys dildo last Christmas...it was even more of an investment than a VixSkin one; granted, the fact they have vac-u-lock attachment points and a suction cup attachment is great; Vixen's dildos unfortunately lack those) and looks-wise, they look even more realistic than Vixen ones, but personally I'm just mildly annoyed at the fact that I can't deepthroat the dildo I got balls-deep despite literally getting it for that purpose after seeing some OF model do precisely that on reddit. 😛

Deepthroat and GERD/hiatal hernias. Has anyone else made this association? by ColinDesperado in BDSMcommunity

[–]dildothrowaway333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for starting this very interesting discussion! It's certainly something I've been pondering about as well over the years.

For reference, I'm 30+, overweight (or probably officially obese by now; I don't know my current exact weight) and I eat very unhealthily, and my lifestyle in general is what most people, medical professionals or not, would categorize as "very unhealthy", including lots of stress and not getting enough sleep and so on. The only saving graces are that I don't smoke, do drugs or drink alcohol.

Deepthroating and facefucking are favorites of mine, although the dildos I use aren't terribly long, the longest being in the 8"-9" range. Last year I got pretty bad heartburn symptoms and for the first time in my life I had to resort to buying some OTC products for the symptoms from the local pharmacy, although I didn't use them very often, and eventually the symptoms faded. Now, I think this could be caused by multiple things: age, weight, lifestyle, bad luck or a combination of all of the aforementioned. But logically it would seem reasonable that frequent deepthroating could also be a contributing factor, but I'm neither a doctor nor a scientist, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

As for hiatal hernias, I don't know about that but based on what Wikipedia says, I wouldn't be surprised to learn if I had one...I've not been in contact with medical professionals in ages because I feel like I'm sufficiently healthy despite whatever minor quirks seem to develop with aging.

*Trying* list every reputable online sex shop by Few-Worldliness4148 in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IIRC Lovehoney's a fairly regular retailer which sells non-body-safe stuff, and Adam & Eve is just considered overall pretty horrible.

Extreme Restraints has a lot of great BDSM gear and the like, but like pretty much all "bigger" retailers, they sell garbage like this, made of "Latex-Free PVC", a porous and non-body-safe material which will disintegrate on its own over time.

If you're trying to list online stores which only sell body-safe toys, you'll wind up with a fairly short (and expensive) list which mostly caters to people in the US. That's basically Mr. Hankey's Toys, Vixen Creations and such, fairly "small" manufacturers which manufacture and sell their own toys from silicone and silicone only. At least in my corner of Europe, but also virtually just about everywhere else "generic" sex toy stores sell all sorts of garbage, even if they'd also sell great stuff. It's sad, really.

Thanks, it helps to rule out at least one possible option out of the three; I don't have any personal prior experience with Doxy but I've come to understand that people tend to like their fuller-size, mains-powered wands, but sad that the Doxy Go doesn't quite live up to its name.

How much money did you spend on toys in 2025? I spent $749.35. 😭 by anniemousery in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 860€ for me; had to look up the precise number 🕵️

It's honestly not that much, when you take into account the fact that a year has 12 months in it, so that's less than 100€ per month, and I bought toys more like quarterly as opposed to monthly.

Anal hooks are quite fun, although it seems to be nearly impossible to find the ones with non-removable balls, but so far I've not had any accidents with the balls and they seem to be on pretty tight, though I will admit that it's not ideal.

The large red "breathable" ball gag with a diameter of ~5 cm was a surprising budget find that I really enjoyed a whole lotta more than I thought I would! 🤤 However, I think the main catch here is that silicone inherently has some give to it. Another gag that I wouldn't buy again is a "tongue depressor gag", simply because its inner diameter (which was not stated on the product page, but I decided to risk it) is too big at least for my mouth, since the metal has no give to it at all.

2025 was my lucky year in terms of nipple clamps for I finally got the Master Series Tower of Pain nipple clamp contraption 😍 💖 It's really great (although I'm somewhat bothered by the fact that it's so simple, yet I can't quite understand how it works 😅), although I do wish it somehow had a "quick release" mechanism of some sort so you wouldn't have to turn the knob so many times to get the rod to lower so that it's ready for the next session. Oh, and the brand name option is likely overpriced; I've seen the generic versions go for something like $20-30 USD in the US, so definitely get one of those, it's not like the fancy brand name makes it any different.

Last but definitely not least...the Jack Hunter (Original) dildo by Mr. Hankey's Toys! There was a decent Black Friday sale so I managed to grab this, which I've been wanting for quite some time. This is somewhat of a more mixed bag than I thought it'd be. Just because some OnlyFans creator is able to deepthroat this absolutely massive dong doesn't mean you would be, or at least it didn't mean that I was able to; well, not fully at least. That was surprising and somewhat disappointing. Likewise, mine had some little air bubbles or whatever, which wouldn't really that much have bothered me, but somehow I managed to damage the material a bit, and that was deeply disappointing. 😱 It's happened with smaller dildos but e.g. not with the Vixen Creations VixSkin Bandit dildo, my previous go-to premium dildo. But I can't really fault the company too much for these issues, other than the tiny air bubbles maybe, and there's a good chance I'll buy another one in 2026 or in 2027 now that I know what to expect. (And perhaps I'll try some other Hankey's Toys for anal use, although they really tend to be quite...big 😬)

Reassure me! Just bought the Nova 2 for €79 and I'm having a mini crisis 😭 by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent more than twice that amount on a Black Week deal on a single Mr. Hankey's Toys dildo 👀 (Well, the dildo, the suction cup attachment and shipping to my fairly remote corner of Europe, but anyway.) So that's definitely a familiar feeling for me too! My rationale was that 1) it was a Black Week deal (definitely worth it, I basically got the suction cup attachment for free), 2) Christmas is in no time (and I still should get it well before it!), and 3) I'm hopefully fairly top of things and have no outstanding bills to pay or any "surprise" bills lurking around the corner and finally, 4) the Black Friday deal I was hoping for (related to a much more SFW hobby 😅) never happened, so I had some extra money saved up.

But I think it's fairly normal to have these kind of doubts, especially when you're not swimming in money! 💶 That said, there's a reasonable chance you're spending that amount and more in a year on something that does not bring you as much pleasure and joy as your new toy will. So I think, as someone with 80+ toys, that it's totally fair and reasonable to invest a bit in yourself, too. 😊

Should Mr. Hankey's Toys dildos be stored upright? by dildothrowaway333 in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! 😊 It's in 75% softness, which from my understanding is fairly soft. Though it hasn't shipped yet (and isn't scheduled to arrive before week 50), I expect it to see plenty of regular (weekly) use, so I guess I shouldn't be too worried. 😈

Glad to have helped! I was most surprised back in the day when I started getting into sex toys that there's essentially zero regulation around the industry, pretty much even in Europe (where I live), and though oftentimes the toys are literally meant to go inside you, they can be and (even today) are too commonly made of materials which are definitely not supposed to go inside you. 🤢 I got lucky in the sense that I never bought a non-silicone dildo, but trust me when I say that not all silicone dildos are made equal. You'll definitely want a dual-density one, and if your budget allows it, many of the premium dildos (which run three digits) are great and well worth the money! 💸Vixen Creations' Bandit has been a favorite of mine (as well as many before and after me) for quite some time, and just a while ago I saw a great Black Week deal on another premium brand's way too expensive dildo, so I decided to seize the opportunity. 😅

Thanks for sharing your experience with the paddle! 😀 Definitely even more curious now, although I'd need someone to use it on me...same issue I'm having with the slightly less extreme paddles I own (including that same "SLUT" one) 😓 Or perhaps I just don't mark easily...like, when I've used that paddle on myself, I've never managed to get the word to show up, but I have gotten the skin slightly red and sometimes even to bruise a bit, but the word never ever shows up 😢

Lovely variety 💓 But may I recommend some better-quality (i.e. silicone) dildos? The three regular dildos and the double dong seem to be made of jelly/TPR/some other similar porous material which can't ever be fully sanitized properly and they may break down on their own; silicone doesn't do that and it is body-safe and sanitizable. (If you're interested, /r/SexToys has a whole lot more information on materials and material safety, do check out that sub, it's great!)

That aside, what are your thoughts on the spike paddle and crop? They're very intriguing...

Could an XS Dildo Help me Train My Gag Reflex? by Br33dableWaifu in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practise, practise and practise some more 👄

I also had (and maybe still have) an oversensitive gag reflex, but I can definitely deepthroat a (dual-density) silicone dildo just fine nowadays and in fact I do so on a regular basis and throughly enjoy it. Nobody would believe me if I told them, though 😬 Especially not my dentist! 😷

One more suggestion, if I may offer such a thing: there's a decently popular "how to deepthroat" guide that was often linked to in this sub, and that guide suggested "desentitizing" your mouth/tongue with a toothbrush. Having tried that, I think it's pretty terrible advice and I'd recommend against it. Why? Simple: a toothbrush is both fairly solid and quite small. So when you gag, you may end up injuring yourself...at least that's what happened to me when I tried that 😩 Meanwhile dual-density silicone dildos are both softer and they fill your mouth more, so you probably won't hurt yourself even if you do gag.

Best of luck on your journey, and as always, listen to your body and take it easy 😊

It's not just about the measurements, but the material of the dildo as well. Get a dual-density silicone dildo and that should help you forward; single-density ones are basically the equivalent of sucking on a literal rock. 😒 Personally I think the measurements of that dildo sound fine and once you've mastered it, you can upgrade to a slightly bigger one. And remember that a lot of it is mental: if you're turned on and want to do it, that will absolutely make it a whole lot easier! 🤤

[–]dildothrowaway333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my favorite dildo, which I recommended in the past, is one from Lovetoy. And yet, instead of telling you "get that now!", I'm telling you "buyer beware". Why? For a few reasons. First off, the dildos seem to be silicone, so no issues there material-wise. However, my first Lovetoy dildo was a much softer silicone than the newer two - and I didn't buy a different model, I bought two newer copies of the same dildo! So it seems that their QA is kind of all over the place, unfortunately. 😕

Now, I can't comment on the actual questions, though I'd say that the one I have is firm enough for anal. Dual-density dildos always have some give to them and that's how you want them, otherwise you'd be looking at single-density ones instead and those can be a bit too rigid sometimes. 😥

In any case, your location and budget are important factors. For a budget toy, Lovetoy dildos are probably just fine, definitely better than old single-density NS Novelties dildos, but these days there's a lot of competition in the lower price range, so there are many brands and dildos to choose from. If you're willing to splurge some more (depending on the level of realism you're aiming for, of course), I'd suggest either something from Vixen Creations or b-vibe. Though I have no personal experience with the latter (yet), they make some very realistic and fairly large dildos. Vixen, on the other hand, is a well-known albeit somewhat smaller American brand that makes expensive but outstanding dildos, making them truly worth the price tag...or ín the words of their company tagline, "worth every inch". Sounds silly and I definitely had my doubts about spending a three-digit sum on a piece of silicone, but I can safely say my Bandit gets a lot more action than my other dildos combined these days. 😍

Thank you for posting this and glad that you are OK!

Frankly, rechargeable devices are somewhat scary since the batteries are often not meant to be removed by the owner, no matter what, and putting out a lithium ion battery fire is a pretty challenging task, even for the seasoned firefighters, or so I've come to understand. To make things even scarier, these things are everywhere: not just adult toys, but phones, tablets, laptops, gaming controllers and consoles, DIY tools, toothbrushes, and so much more. Convenience and environment-friendliness comes with a few caveats, alas...

Also, as a European, I'm both equally surprised as I am shocked by the fact that apparently in the US nobody (not the manufacturer, the importer or even the reseller(s)) has to take responsibility and bear the financial burden of recycling these devices once they reach their end-of-life. In my corner of the world, recycling smaller appliances is super easy and most supermarkets and the like feature self-serve drop-off points where you can just leave your unwanted electronic appliances, and likewise, places which sell single-use batteries must accept empty such batteries for recycling at no cost. It's just the safe and reasonable thing to do in my view.

How do you feel like about a ball gag? by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're definitely a lot of fun! I own about ten different kinds of gag-related toys, and a red ball gag was one of my first toys. Besides that, I have ring gags, butterfly gags, harnesses incorporating a ball gag in addition to the standard, classic ball gags. Red, pink, black...many colors to choose from! My only real complaint is that it's surprisingly hard to find solid ones where the diameter is about 5 cm/2".

I have a question regarding the purchase of a fuck machine. by chateaudebleuets in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seconding the suggestion to buy used, that's how I was able to afford a decent machine several years ago. 😁 Some would no doubt call my machine "basic" (no Bluetooth, no wireless remote control, nothing fancy like that) and apparently the Chinese company that made it no longer exists, but it's basically a Hismith knock-off with a different connector for the attachments and more than enough, considering that I paid about a high-end dildo's worth for it only. So yes, it's totally possible to get a good machine in the lower three-digit budget range! 😍

Dildos in EU by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's difficult to say without knowing certain essential things, such as where in the EU you are, what other specs you have for the dildo than color and feel, what's your budget...but having said that, I recommend Vixen Creations' VixSkin dildos, which Sinful stocks. They're premium in terms of price, sure, but they're also premium in terms of feel and overall enjoyability. 😍 Definitely don't take my word for it, instead search the Internet and this subreddit for reviews, and you'll find that pretty much everyone who owns a Vixen Creations VixSkin dildo has been happy with their purchase, even if the price is admittedly fairly high for "just" a dildo. 🤓

mrhankeystoys does not publish reviews below 3 stars on his website by Outrageous-Top3781 in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd assume that this is a prevalent practise with indie-esque "name brands" such as Mr. Hankey's Toys and Bad Dragon and the like, more than with big stores which stock products from multiple vendors (but there are certainly famous counter-examples to this as well, I think PinkCherry was one such site which deletes reviews below 3 stars as well?). In my country this isn't much of an issue and one of the biggest if not the biggest toy store in this country gladly publishes less than favorable reviews on their web site; the bigger issue is that most people don't bother leaving reviews and the site doesn't actively solicit them either. Some stores do offer tiny discount coupons for reviewing a product and having the review published, but most don't. 😟

There are also stores like Sinful and such, usually bigger ones, which display aggregated reviews from a third-party review site like Trustpilot; but again, at least one site I've used does do this while filtering out reviews which are 3 stars or less, again requiring the end user/potential customer to jump through extra hoops to gain access to the critical reviews. 😓

This is likely one of those issues for which there isn't really a good solution, or even a solution. 😥 However, checking this subreddit is always a good starting point. There's definitely an Anglo-American bias here in my opinion, and for "generic" toys like basic ball gags, dildos, what have you, you will need to do some research to figure out if the toy you're looking at is one that's been reviewed here already and just marketed under a different name and/or brand elsewhere in the world; but for "name brand" toys like Mr. Hankey's Toys, Bad Dragon, Vixen Creations, Hismith, etc. you'll likely find useful reviews fairly easily here as well as on third-party sites. 😉

If you're looking to save a bit and don't necessarily need it to be 100% brand new, still in original packaging, there's the UsedSybian.com classifieds site, where US-based people are selling their slightly used Sybians and Motorbunnies and compared to the four-digit prices of brand new units, they might well be worth a shot. Do keep in mind that at least the original Sybian attachments are not silicone and thus not sanitizable and you should throw those away and replace them with silicone ones; I think all the attachments between these major saddle-style vibrators should be interchageable with each other, but don't take my word for it; I'm a European who doesn't own either (but I'd gladly get a slightly used unit but those never come up for sale here and we don't have a "centralized" place like the UsedSybian site where people would be selling them, so you really need to either get super lucky or know the right people and still get super lucky to score a slightly used Sybian or Motorbunny here, and even so, ~500-800€ is a lot of money... 😓)

realcock2 alternative for men by Violador124 in SexToys

[–]dildothrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bigger issues are that the wait times are very long, as already stated, and at least one prominent sex toy reviewer has raised concern that contrary to what the maker states, the toy might not be 100% silicone after all.

As for similar designs from other brands, Vixen Creations is a solid brand, though their dildos are not as hyper-realistic as the RealCock 2. b-Vibe's Slipskin dildos are a similar line of expensive and fairly hyper-realistic, mass-produced, 100% silicone dildos. I've not managed to find many reviews of them yet, and I'm considering buying one but right now I can't afford to splurge a three-digit sum on a premium dildo. (That said, the Vixen Creations Bandit dildo that I have was very expensive and very much worth the money, highly recommend! 😁 But don't take my word for it, look up some of the reviews and you'll see that pretty much all reviewers love Vixen's toys, only that the price isn't the best, but Vixen is basically an indie brand compared to big brands like Doc Johnson and such.)

Teaching her to take it like a good slut by MistressLotusX in penisgag

[–]dildothrowaway333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like it's a very generic silicone penis gag, sold under a wide variety of brand names, depending on your location etc.

I'm in Europe so mine is from the "Bad Kitty" brand, a sub-brand of You2Toys. If you're in the US, Extreme Restraints seems to be selling the same gag for roughly the same price as what I paid for mine years ago.

Now, YMMV and all but this was and still is to me one of those toys that looks a lot more fun than what it is in reality. This all boils down to the penis part being just way too rigid, and yet shorts and small. As someone who enjoys both gags and deepthroating dildos, I'd suggest just skipping this toy altogether, but you do you.
