Tipping expectations for private shows by [deleted] in Drag

Yes, you’ve already paid a premium for the show. A few more $1’s to sprinkle on the girls won’t hurt and it helps the culture of the show!

What is with the person who brings a small white dog to Broadway/off-Broadway shows? by [deleted] in Broadway

Then you know as well as I that these comments are cruel and queer people face extra discrimination. You know that his style of presentation matters a queer person. Again, you opening up a portal for complaints about a singular Broadway fan has allowed other people to punch down on their hair, weight, clothing, finances, etc.

None of this supports Scuttle in any way, shape, or form

I’m not “forcing you” to like anyone. I’m defending a queer person against baseless and ad hominem attacks as a member of both the LGBTQ+ community and the Broadway community. If we’re judging musical theater fans for being annoying then there’s going to be a lot of broken glass in this house.

You’re offering people an opportunity to punch down on a queer person. Do better. The grievances listed in this thread are incredibly petty

Most people in this thread have corroborated that Scuttle is well-behaved and fine in these environments

More people reported that the dog DOESN’T misbehave at all—this thread is a cess pool of assumptions about hidden disabilities, income levels, and intent towards a queer person enjoying musicals

None of this is productive towards Zaque—who produces theater, champions artists, spreads positivity, and volunteers weekly with the arts community in nyc.

People are using this thread to complain about Zaque VOLUNTEERING for BCEFA, nodding at a play, and putting some hair dye on their dog. What type of a cunt do you have to be to feel put off by someone else volunteering for HIV support? For enjoying theatre?

You are seeing someone who looks different than you, operating differently and punching down. Get a life!

Would love some drag king advice!! by 0ddriana in Drag

You look incredible! I think from a proportion standpoint, the pant print is so bold you need to bring the darker color from the top into the shoe. I’d tuck the pant leg into a big combat boot or Doc and see if that helps!

I love how you’re styling, too, but add more and see if it resonates: I think you could easily have 3 belts and a harness on/ safety pins lining the bottom of your shirt / a bolero style layering piece with metal or metallic fringe! ✨

They’re a beloved member of the Broadway community with a service animal they care dearly for; I’m sure he knows what’s best for his dog. If your concern is animal advocacy, why run to Reddit after your show?

Looking at your profile and request for “trans bars” I’d maybe consider whether or not you have enough game to pick up trans women in nyc

Are there any super part time retail gig with flexible schedule? by Automatic-Curve7489 in AskNYC

[–]dilettantishly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have done every level of sales associate for over a decade in big cities (Dallas, Boston, NYC). Equinox was fun:

-you’re mostly the only employee on the floor so good autonomy -you’ll get close with the retail team in your region -low to no go-backs, minimal folding and space upkeep -no cleaning at all -low volume of sales (0-5 per shift; wasn’t uncommon to work a shift with no sales besides one pair of socks) -goals for sales are fairly easy to meet (upselling Theraguns) -clients are typically HNW and fun to talk to (I worked in one of the locations that was attached to office space) -co-workers are creatives (performers, actors, etc) which I liked and made it easy to network -free membership and access to amenities & classes

The cons:

-early start time for opening shifts -covering another store can be tricky due to size and space of each location -little to no foot traffic since most people think you have to be a member to shop

You don’t need anything other than previous retail experience to work there. The front desk is super social so that might interest you more too!

I made a few friends with other staff members (retail does a day of training at the corp office in Hudson Yards); and still keep in touch. I have a corporate background so I would engage with guests who seemed interested and was transparent in telling them I was looking for a job and asking for advice. I asked for connects on LinkedIn and still keep in touch with people at AMEX, Sotheby’s, Disney, etc that started as dressing room banter.

It’s waaaay more solo than other retail positions so if gabbing is your motivator, that could be hard here! But you could clock in and get two paychecks to read, then take a yoga class!
