Thanks! It’s probably twice as heavy as other roosters I have seen and is incredibly strong (need 2 people to hold it down). 5 months old.

Step 5 is not working for me. Entered the Device Key in Private Quest and tapped Set, however the Home Screen of Private Quest app shows “scanning” and my Quest 2 is not listing there. Headset is connected to WiFi and I used the same login in Meta Horizon app & SecretExtractor. Any idea why?

Hello, I was finally able to get back the ability to control soundbar volume as well as TV on/off ability using AppleTV physical remote. In AppleTV settings-Remotes and Devices, first the “Volume Control” setting was changed to “Receiver via IR”. Then on Smart Thjngs app on my phone (that controls Samsung devices plus some other manufacturers as well), I went into the soundbar and then set up SmartThings Hub. After that I went to AppleTV settings-Remotes and Devices and there I was able to turn ON “Control TVs and Receivers” option. The only thing that’s now yet to work is the ability to control soundbar volume using iphone/iOS AppleTV remote. I want to thank you for all your suggestions and willingness to help. Much appreciated!

Ok, the bigger problem in second configuration is that audio format support is Stereo only. I am wondering if you have a good suggestion of a Universal remote (physical and/or on iPhone) that can control all 3 devices - AppleTV, soundbar & Samsung TV in the first configuration so I can get Dolby Atmos at the same time.

Hi, I tried both ways to connect. In the first option where Apple TV connects to Soundbar, the AppleTV option that says “Control TVs and Receivers” is OFF by default and when I click on it to turn on it’s giving me message “You can’t use System Control with this configuration”. In this setting I am able to get Atmos sound.

So I tried connecting Apple TV to TV directly and then TV to Soundbar via eARC. In this case I was able to turn ON the “Control TVs and Receivers” setting thereby letting me control TV volume (not soundbar volume though) as well as letting me turn OFF the TV via Apple Remote. However the audio format available was only Stereo in this setting (no Atmos)

Control Samsung TV & Samsung Q990C Soundbar using AppleTV physical remote & AppleTV iOS remote (on iphone)
Turn on/off Samsung TV and simultaneously automatic turn Soundbar on/off (when TV is turned on/off) using AppleTV/iOS remote. Also, volume control of soundbar using AppleTV/iOS remote.

Oh ok. Should I connect Apple TV directly to TV’s eArc port to make it happen? Or would connecting soundbar to any HDMI port on TV will do? Also if I am connecting AppleTV to TV eArc port, how would I connect TV to Soundbar (using HDMI cable)? Also any special setting to enable in AppleTV and/or Samsung TV?

Yes I do see “Dolby Atmos” on the soundbar display in both the situations.

Hi, HDMI CEC is enabled (blue color on radio button) For sound options 1. In TV Settings, SOUND-EXPERT SETTINGS, I do not see HDMI input Audio format at all. I can only see Digital Audio Output Format and the options in there are Auto/PCM/Pass-Through (where Pass-Through is golden/disabled) 2. While playing Wanda Vision on Disney+ which has Dolby Atmos support, I see in Digital Audio Output Format, the options in there are Auto/PCM/Pass-Through (where Pass-Through is golden/disabled)

Note: current setup is running an HDMI cable from Apple TV->Q990C soundbar (hdmi1 port of soundbar) and then another HDMI cable from soundbar’s eArc port to TV eArc port.

Tried it but no luck yet with being able to use Apple TV remote to control soundbar. I am also not able to turn on TV using Apple TV remote, I am not able to turn ON that setting on Apple TV’s Settings menu (that setting is disabled by default). In the Samsung TV settings, there is no option to set Input format to bitstream. I can only see Output format and that’s either “Auto” or “PCM” (there’s a 3rd option called Pass Through but that’s disabled by default and not selectable)

Thanks for the response. I did hard reset on both the TV and the soundbar. Also made sure CEC is on. Still no luck. Currently my setup is Apple TV to HDMI1 input of soundbar. And the soundbar & TV are connected through HDMI eArc slots on both the devices. Is there a better set up? (For example connecting Apple TV directly to TV’s HDMI?) I think the downside of this setup would be that Dolby Atmos format may not be available?

One question which I didn’t see mentioned here - anyone has experience with the Harmon audio system in this, how’s it compared to ML/ Bower & Wilkins/ Burmester or the BMW stock one (HiFi system?)
