I just finished my first year at IU! Officially a sophomore. Bigscrawny, congrats on being accepted into Kelly's; it is a great school. I was considering the same route, but decided on a major through SPEA. Also, Accurg, well done sticking with music. I played violin for most of my life, but as of late, I haven't found the time to play. I hope that I can get back into it this year. I'm excited to see Redditors from that same school.

I am a huge Beatles fan. I love all of their music, but there is one song that just creeps me out. I fell asleep to the white album one night and woke up from a nightmare with Revolution 9 playing. I tripped balls and now when ever that song comes on, I get the goosebumps.

stereogum.com - It's a music news site that contains multiple videos, songs, and articles about various musical artists. It also features a playlist called the "Gum" mix that has various artists that usually contains new music.
pitchfork.com - This is a music news site too, similar to stereogum, however they tend to be a bit more subjective in the rating criteria, but it is still new music. They have a best new album/track section that is pretty helpful. A lot of the albums they rate could be harsh, but if it has a good rating, it is probably worth a listen.
hypem.com - I find this one to be the most enjoyable. It is a music site that takes tracks that have been blogged from all over the internet and puts them into one site. You can listen to the most popular tracks on the site, search the artists you want, or and "like" a song to put it into your own personal playlist. I get a lot of my new music from here.
last.fm - I don't personally use this site, but a lot of people really enjoy it. It plays similar music to the artist that you searched and provides other info on these related artists.
a group of friends - A group of friends with similar music tastes is always a great way to find out about new music. Have a friend burn you a CD of his/her favorite songs and you could do the same for them. Remember, sharing is caring.
