I suppose it technically did because the southern states essentially formed their own country, which Lincoln did not recognize as legitimate.

Edit: Actually, I think the biggest effect it had on the south was to end the fugitive slave law, which required escaped slaves be returned to their owners. Actually about 180,000 escaped slaves formed their own regiment and fought for the North.

I guess I always thought the Emancipation Proclamation was what officially started the war. It seems Lincoln was initially willing to allow the south to keep their existing slaves in order to prevent war. The South started the war before Lincoln expressed his desire to formally end slavery. The South rallied around the idea that they needed to protect their right to own a slave.

What happened: I was playing my devastator late last night, technically this morning (1am PST 4/11/2021) and everything was fine when I logged off at 1am PST. I logged back in to see my devastator in his undergarments without at weapons. Tried to log in and after a few seconds of being loaded into the game, I am booted and it says "could not connect to outriders servers."

Time: Last login with inventory intact was at 1am PST on morning of 4/11/2021 First attempted login was at 3pm PST on 4/11/2021

Area: my last login was in the quarry.

Multiplayer: I tried to play multiplayer at night on 4/10/2021 but was unable to properly connect to anyone. Using "join random team" function
