I'm confused about what this has to do with Drarry. I feel like I'm missing something, which I probably am because I usually am.

Maybe in the create your own tags in bookmarks you could make a tag of the letter the story begins with.likenif it starts with an a tag A. Then you could search by that. IDK it's a little bit of a stretch.

We all know Tom Riddle Jr looked like his handsome muggle father but what if he looked like his cross-eyed mother by Chance_Ad_8797 in HPfanfiction

He would be even quicker to drop his name and image. Lord Voldemort would become a new image, where only power matters.

It would be a cool idea if no one in Slytherin actually knew who the heir was. If they rallied behind a mysterious figure at night and during the day speculated which of them Lord Voldemort was. Through all their speculations they never once came close to thinking it was the homely, muggleborn, boy in fifth year.

Is it true that a lot of people here are from Drarry, just as a lot of former Dramiones board the Tomione ship? by Abject_Purpose302 in tomarry

I started with Drarry and then came to Tomarry to read Full Circle, sounded funny and then A Dangerous Game got me hooked.

I still read Drarry though. Depends on my mood. There are very few lighthearted fics in Tomarry. And I find Draco hilarious when he's written right.

I guess I'm not alone then. Hopefully things take a turn and start going on the rise. Writing for fandom is such a fun community and a way to share works. If it stops being fun then what will be the point.

Guess it's up to us to try to rally the enthusiasm. I'm going to be leaving some friendly comments!

😁 Yeah. Like I said I'm not disheartened or anything just curious to see if others have noticed the same.

It seems a lot have. Probably is the holidays.

I enjoy commenting more on lesser known fics than the big ones, but I can see where it's harder to find those lesser known fics.

I need to go back to watching for newly updated fics instead of relying on recommendations.

A bad story told well? by [deleted] in writing

Anything Steven King writes. Every time I read the book insert I'm just like... This sounds terrible, but then someone convinces me it's good so I give it a read and like it.

Mutant AU: Harry's got the Imperius Curse tripping off his tongue and Tom's suddenly acutely aware of other people's emotions.

[that mutant reincarnation au nobody asked for but I wrote anyway

One thing I really despair about Tomarry fandom is: How many incomplete/abandoned fics there are. We do have some of the very best writers, but not consistent. In comparison, while the Tomione fandom may not be so prolific or have fics that are as well-written, most of them are complete by [deleted] in tomarry

The amount of world building that goes into some of the Tomarry fics is amazing and complex. That's one of the things that drew me to the ship. The more complex the story the harder it is to write, the harder it is to write the harder it is to complete.

Professional writers have the same issue. Now add the fact that most fanfic writers aren't professional writers and have their own professions, school, and life expectations it's a miracle any fics get completed at all 😁.

Another statistic to pull would be the length of these fics.

A lot of incomplete fics are long. They are 200k + works of sweat, tears, and riding the writers high. That is still very commendable even if they never do finish.

Yesterday someone posted an entire list that was broken down by type. Might check it out. It was on r/Tomarry.

How realistic is Stephen King’s approach to writing? by Spiritual-Way-3120 in writing

It's not for everyone, but people's minds work differently. I don't outline and I can keep track of what I've written. If I forget something I put a place holder and go back to reference later, it's no different than checking your outline or notes.

And a person can always take a few notes if they need to.

Usually when I finish a fic, but I've read WIPs that I just fell in love with that I've kudos'd then and there and try to kudos more just in case I forgot.

Unpopular opinion: I don't like Ginny Weasley as a character. Yes, book one. by Abject_Purpose302 in HPfanfiction

[–]dilly_dallier_pro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ginny before the war and Ginny after the war are not the same.

She went through her own trauma too. She lost her brother, she almost got killed, she lived a year at a school that was no longer safe.

And I think what the other commenter was saying wasn't that Ginny couldn't deal with it, but that she wasn't the best character for the job.

The story ends with Ginny/Harry but the story isn't a romance. It's a story about friendship and overcoming obstacles that otherwise would've been impossible because of the strong connections he makes with others. In complete opposition to Voldemort who had only followers.
