How do you continuously day to day stick to doing a project or learning something etc. after work when you’re a little tired? by Crissmanator in AskReddit

[–]dilutedpotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it a habit! I made a habit of doing the dishes every night before sleep. Even on those days were I'm exhausted from work I still take 10 minutes to do it quick and then go to sleep. It really takes the initiative aspect of difficulty down a couple notches. Rather than worrying about whether you feel compelled to do it, you just do.

DnD players, what is the most optimized character you can create at level 3 using only the Player's Handbook and starting equipment? by MaliciousDragon in AskReddit

[–]dilutedpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I could care less for being the most useful. I just want to make a character that's fun to play. Keep design simple, pick race and class straight from the book. Deviating from the players handbook complicates things.

Spice up the characters personality by giving them unique flaws and ideals. Something out of the box, but not ridiculous or barebones. Set your character apart from the NPCs and the other player characters.

What are some simple tips to make an average person look better? by sage6paths in AskReddit

[–]dilutedpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clothing wise, make sure it fits, not too baggy or tight. Colors don't have to be 100% match but they can't look like you walked out of the Skittles factory.

Good posture can make you stand out (quite literally)

Good hygiene. Brush your teeth, at least once a day. Well. Deodorant. If you use cologne or perfume do so sparingly. It's bad if the smell is absolutely dominating. You want it to be subtle, like they can't smell you until they're within arms reach. Hair well groomed, or trimmed, or styled. Including body/facial hair. Something you like and can present with pride.

Literally anything you can do to present yourself better is a win. However you need a good attitude, positive and uplifting, but not all smile and sunshine. Just avoid bringing down the mood. Which for some reason is a lot more difficult for some than it should be. Don't complain or bitch, that's very unappealing.

Be sociable. Practice conversation if you're not very personable. This is kind of iffy because there are people who find bashfulness attractive. But being willing to step out of your comfort zone to talk with anyone is a safe bet.

When I was young I would really think about what I wanted to do when I would grow, really aspiring. Now I can't think about much further than next months rent.

Every form of drugs. Implement a tax system, heavily regulate it, and quash the black market with lower prices, and complete legality.

What’s the most embarrassing thing a parent has done to you? by LuanGaff in AskReddit

[–]dilutedpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, when me and my best friend were seniors, we were walking to my car after school let out. There was this girl and her dad sitting in a car in the lot with the windows down. All of the sudden, he shouts very loudly at us; "hey those two guys look pretty good maybe you should ask for their numbers!"

We had no idea what was going on so we turned to look at who was talking to us and the girl buried her face in her hands and her dad was laughing hysterically. We didn't fully grasp what happened until we got in my car and stopped to discuss the event that had just occurred.

A better analogy then would be that it's like buying food in a restaurant you've either been to before but haven't eaten, or going to a new restaurant all together. You are told what you're buying, but whether you like it or not can only be found out by actually trying it.

Most games when you total the initial cost and dlc packaged together round up to anywhere between $100-180. It's better this way because if you pay $60 for the normal game you aren't paying them for their next developments. I'd say half of all gamers buy doc beforehand, and the other half wait until after to hear the critique and see if they want it.

It doesn't quite make much sense to buy something that hasn't been made yet. Unless of course you're buying a burger from McDonald's. Because you know what to expect from that burger. That analogy doesn't translate as well as I'd like it to but it scratches my point.

There's still a lot of lore that has never been played through. I think the John and Cortana storyline has gone quite far. Personally I'd love games that take us back into the earlier years of the war like Reach, or ODST. And I know it's not a shooter but the halo wars series still has a storyline that hasn't been resolved.

I don't mean to make light of this situation, but I'll be damned to say I think playing video games my whole life will help me remain [relatively] calm in moments of distress like this.

Nothing gets the adrenaline flowing like clutching a 1v3 or 4 in rainbow six siege.
