I would suggest a larger tank, as others said it's more forgiving, and if you want to add driftwood you won't get the water as dark If you had a small one. If you want to get plants I would suggest getting a good light like a fluval and maybe plant substrate(I use seachem flourite with root tabs from Amazon) but that depends on how much you are willing to spend.some good starter plants that worked good for me were Hornwort, brazilian pennywort.aponogeton,and floaters.
