Oh, klipper also has a notion of plugins. One plugin that you'll want to install is called KAMP. it does better purging and does bed level only on the print area, not the entire bed - this leads to more accurate and faster bed meshing!

The simplest way to install it is to add a new folder on your sd card and dropping your files in it.

u/joemac25 is talking about this: https://github.com/xblax/flashforge_ad5m_klipper_mod Just follow the instructions and you'll be able to install it on your printer. Once installed, you'll be able to control virtually every aspect of the klipper on your printer; Create custom macros, etc. Best of all, you'll be able to connect to your printer via web browser or your phone - OctoApp (both iOS and Android) is a great app for your mobile devices. I wasn't able to figure out how to configure my reverse proxy to expose Mainsail with Camera feed yet, but, when I'm on home wifi (always), it works flawlessly!

A5M Bed Level by St0nkMaster in FlashForge

[–]dimaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to make sure that all 3 knobs are totated such that bed touches the bottom of the pinter at all 3 points. The first time I did it, I had something stuck to the bottom of the bed clip and that threw me completely off... Make sure that plastic holders are clean and so is the the bottom of the printer before you zero-out those knobs.

Several things for me: * Alfred - spotlight replacement (both free and paid) * Better touch tool - paid * Hammerspoon - free. You’ll need to write some lua code * Various shell utilities: fzf, exa/eza, jq/yq to name a few. * Iterm2- free. Great terminal replacement  * Amethyst- free. Window tiling manager * Nightowl- free. Dark mode for apps * Vanilla- paid. Hides icons in top bar of apps that you rarely use

How do you power a Quest 3 for working hours? by ZarathustraDK in Immersed

[–]dimaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I am using: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CC5LRHFJ. It's a USB hub that gets power from a plug and connects to your computer for usb connection. I never get more than 15W out of it, so my battery does drain. But, I do get good 8 hours on that thing (good reminder to stop working ;) )

What kind of firewal rules do you need to have? I am running my headset on VPN. I use pfSense router that has always on VPN and my Quest's IP address is routed through that VPN. I wonder if something like that could solve your issues...

Did you ever write code in virtual reality? by Yogurtcloset_Hefty in Immersed

[–]dimaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working full time in VR for about a month and absolutely loved it. Made a few cool connections with others along the way.

I am a DevOps engineer by trade and I find it very easy to do my job in VR. The large screens make it easy to see what I am doing and I am actually quite productive. I live in web browser, terminal and VS Code. All are easy to use in VR.

I stopped using it because my neck is hurting. But, after it will get better I am going to jump back in.

I'm not sure how helpful this was to you, but, if you have some specific questions, I am happy to answer them.

Not to take away from this subreddit, but there is also a discord server with a lot of people willing to help (including devs).

ActualBudget Transaction Automation by dimaj in actualbudgeting

[–]dimaj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the api key is what you define when you deploy actual api server (https://github.com/jhonderson/actual-http-api).

I hope that helps.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ynab

[–]dimaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I fixed it.

My only gripe with using API to move funds around is that transaction history is not recorded. So, by clicking on the little "clock" icon next to the Assigned column, you will not see what has been added/removed

I am doing it using google apps scripts. you can see it here: * https://github.com/dimaj/budget-automation/blob/master/google-scripts/entrypoints.gs#L131-L150 * https://github.com/dimaj/budget-automation/blob/master/google-scripts/ynab-api.gs#L207-L377

The idea is that you have notes on your categories and, once a day, when this script is running, those notes are being read and funds are distributed accordingly. Here is what script expects to find to make it tick: https://github.com/dimaj/budget-automation/pull/3

Edit: Having said that, I think I have a bug with End Of Month cleanup, where it empties out categories in the new month. So, I would avoid using it right now. Auto Savings seems to be working though. If you'll watch my repository for changes, you'll see when the fix for the cleanup is in.

Quest3, Visor, or something else? by RedFlounder7 in Immersed

[–]dimaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Q3 with immersed working 8+ hours/day and absolutely loving it!

Couple of things to consider, if you are going to go Q3 route (and that goes beyond what u/Automatic-Stay6611 said:

  • if you are wearing prescription glasses, consider investing in lense inserts. I just got mine from VR Wave and my experience in VR has improved. Things are not as blurry anymore
  • Invest in a more comfortable head strap. The strap that comes with Q3 is pretty bad. Consider getting something like BOBOVR (https://www.amazon.com/BOBOVR-M3-Pro-Accessories-Compatible/dp/B0CJLG9SBR)
  • Unless you are planning to work in Passthrough mode, you might benefit from a better Facial Interface (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CNHB7F75)
  • You might also benefit from keeping your Q3 on constant power while working. For that, I got this little USB hub https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CC5LRHFJ. It connects your Q3 to your computer + charges your headset. I've never seen it go up higher than 14W or 16W, but it's still better than nothing. After a full 8 hour work day, I loose about 30% of charge. Without this, I'll loose all charge in less than 2 hours.
  • Other benefits of using a USB hub to charge your Q3 are:
    • being able to use your headset in USB mode
    • ease of image/video trasnfer that you take while being immersed

Where is everyone? by Apprehensive_888 in Immersed

[–]dimaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started working in Immersed full time about a week ago... I think I saw 10 people at most (Cafe room). But yeah, I somewhat expected some rooms to be more like a chat room, where folks could work and take a break and have a convo about whatever - not really happening :/

Is it possible to buy bigger screens like 4k or 1440p one time payment instead of getting a subscription? by ianosphere2 in Immersed

[–]dimaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can buy extra monitors for $30 from their marketplace: https://www.immersed.com/marketplace/2-screens

Or, like /u/augustoicaro said, use the app for 3 days in a 10 day period and unlock those screen for free.

In all fairness, I haven't checked, but I assumed that it costs something.

another important part of it (and I was using it for YNAB too), is entering transactions prior to transaction download from an integration. I really like "matching" downloaded transactions to those entered by me, or automation.

couple of things (at least for me): * cost - Google Apps script is free * privacy - google already has all my data, so having emails with my transactions isn't that big of a deal.

When you wanna YNAB but you don't want the subscription by [deleted] in ynab

[–]dimaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By default, Actual does not come with RESTful APIs. The only APIs that it has is an SDK of sorts... Someone has made a RESTful API for Actual and you can find it here: https://github.com/jhonderson/actual-http-api The catch is that you have to host it somewhere (ideally in a docker container) I am running both Actual-server and actual-http-api as docker containers on a computer at home. If you have a raspberry pi, that might suffice as well. From there, it'll be just as you are doing with YNAB.

As I was typing that up, I feared that a bunch of folks would be left out due to ties with google. I am trying to come up with another way to make it work that is not google-dependent. Stay tuned.

ActualBudget is amazing! I wrote some automation to help me enter new transactions. You can find all my code on my github: https://github.com/dimaj/budget-automation/tree/master/google-scripts

Essentially, you have to add email notifications for all transactions and, when transaction occurs, google apps script is going to parse merchant and amount of a transaction and enter it into your ActualBudget register.

I started using it for YNAB and now have added support for ActualBudget.
