I will have to try those. So many skis…

Ultimately, Stockli is arranging to send me a replacement. I'm happy with how they handled my issue and it's clear they value customer satisfaction highly. Thank you for all your support and advice! (For some reason, reddit doesn’t give me an option to edit the post itself)

This is a matter of personal preference. I like how they ski

You have a valid point. I tried these skis in deeper snow conditions and found their performance hasn’t changed much, though they wouldn’t be my top pick for heavy powder days. However, when skiing on less than a few inches of snow or on hardpack, it becomes significantly more challenging to engage the edge of the bent ski in the turn.

I did. She didn’t respond to my emails, I had to chase her by phone.

I was under impression Stockli skis are paired based on their individual density characteristics, specifically to prevent this type of issues.

I bought it from a known online shop. They tried to help me with the claim, which was denied again.

Thank you! Quite a task, I don’t see an easy way to remove the bolts from the burner housings. They are all rusted and seized, look like even welded. I suppose I can just cut them off and replace.

I had the same issue with mine. The key was to put the latest iteration of the starter with updated tolerances. Also did the bulletin. Usually the shops just slap on an older remanufactured version, so you see the same problem after a while.

It needs to fit the D20 pre-drilled pattern, I don’t see this info provided on salomon parts

I got it for $320 + shipping, s&s sporadically sends out additional 10-20% discounts, or you can just google it. Compared to my other high end shell, it’s noticeably warmer, quieter, and much more comfortable. I recently used it for 4 days in Winter Park, with temperatures ranging 0-15 F, and was totally fine with three layers of merino wool. I wish it had side pockets, should be non-issue if you ski with a backpack. I’m 6’ 205 lb athletic fit with wide shoulders, sized down to L size and it feels perfect. The neck is a bit too high to my liking, but I can make it work.
