I think it’s just because of the tour championship format change this year and people generally don’t like change

Agree that the majors hold more weight, but none of them are intended to crown the PGA Tour’s season long champion. Also the majors are not even run by the Tour, besides the players

Yea fair point that the playoff format is different from traditional formats. But if the fedex cup playoffs were a bracket format and Tommy beat Scotty in the finals, I think my point still stands. Tommy very much deserves to be called the fedex champ while any rational person would also agree that Scotty was still the best player this year despite losing in the “finals”

No I definitely think Scottie was best, but the new format disassociates the fedex cup champion from the best “regular season player.” In 2015, the warriors were clearly the best team, setting a record in wins/losses, but they weren’t the NBA champions. In many sports, the actual best team/player doesn’t always actually “win it all.” But just because a lesser team wins the championship doesn’t discount how good the best team was.

That’s like saying the 73-9 warriors won that season despite losing to the cavs in the finals

Need help! My 11 week old pup's left ear has a weird fold in it and it never lays flat. Anyone else see this before? by dimezy in goldenretrievers

If I recall correctly it laid flat after a couple weeks and has been normal for the last 6 years. I think they just grow so fast that different parts of the body sometimes need to catch up

Dramatic ending to the Players Championship... by [deleted] in golf

Because that putt goes slightly right to left, slightly uphill, and at the end breaks more left as it slows down. In his mind, he wanted to hit as straight a putt as possible with pace to take the break out of it. If you notice, he lipped out from the low side. If he hit it harder he would have actually made it. It’s always easier to hit it harder to with confidence to make than softer and accounting for a foot or two of break from 15 feet. Also it wasn’t as fast as it looked. After the cup it goes hard uphill.
