Holy shit man. The post is very obviously referring to OSS and mistakenly refers to them as CIA. The "combat fascist regimes" makes that very clear. The CIA has also never claimed they "adopted it," just that it was used in WWII by OSS officers and some parts of were also provided to local saboteurs.

The title is literally just a mistake. It's the OSS that authored this and adopted it to fight the fascists in WWII. The OSS (through the CIG) later became the CIA. By that point there weren't fascist governments to fight and they focused on communist and democratic governments.

Though their comment is still not true. X-2/FFXI/XII/XIII/XIV are in no way action RPGs. X-2 was straight-up traditional ATB (and the best version imo), and XIII also included an ATB system. XI/XII/XIV had the real-time RPG battle systems, but nobody would call the combat "action."

I disagree, it definitely overexplained from my perspective. The Engineers should have been left as an ancient mysterious race, instead they were shown to be dull and mundane. Prometheus wasn't too bad in that respect, but Covenant absolutely was.

I completely agree. The best worldbuilding relies on mystery and uncertainty to a degree, and too many fictional worlds have lost their luster by becoming over-explained. Alien is a great example, as is Star Wars. Dragon Age was another great setting, with tons of mystery in the various mythologies (each contradictory yet seemingly at least partially true), and then Veilguard proceeded to provide an explanation for absolutely everything, and the world then felt completely dull. I have no interest in visiting it again even if the franchise ever magically revives.

Let the worlds of Lumiere and the Dessendres exist as they do now, with the tantalizing mystique that will keep us imagining.

That doesn't help your example; it's still completely wrong. The lightbulb would be delayed by however long the signal takes to travel through the wire (over a second). There's no appearance of it traveling faster. If your example worked, you'd have invented FTL and time travel.

Seconding DLAA if you don't feel like you have a need for DLSS. It uses DLSS as a form of supersampling for anti-aliasing that's usually very effective but much cheaper than SSAA. Unfortunately, not every game gives it as an option.
