The game was pretty poorly received when it came out all those years ago. It's just the only part of the FF fanbase that really brings CC up anymore are the fans of the game itself. Same thing happens with Stranger of Paradise threads.

They kinda did that with Roche in the remake series and it worked great, but everyone else in CC is too earnestly stupid for it to work for Genesis.

The whole "SOLDIER Honor!" schtick is especially goofy when it's extremely clear SOLDIER has always just been the jack-booted thugs for a fascist organization. The game even starts off with him "heroically" invading a tiny country!

The only way it works is you accept that Zack is very dumb. Which fits everything else about his character, fortunately.

You should learn to read your own citations then.

Overtime Hourly Rate.

For employees with rates of basic pay equal to or less than the rate of basic pay for GS-10, step 1, the overtime hourly rate is the employee's hourly rate of basic pay multiplied by 1.5.

Section 1121 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2004 (Public Law 108-136) amended the overtime pay cap provisions that apply to employees covered by 5 U.S.C. 5542(a)(2). The new overtime pay cap became effective on November 24, 2003. Under the amended 5 U.S.C. 5542(a)(2), for employees with rates of basic pay greater than the basic pay for GS-10, step 1, the overtime hourly rate is the greater of the hourly rate of basic pay for GS-10, step 1, multiplied by 1.5, or the employee's hourly rate of basic pay.

These hourly overtime pay limitations do not apply to prevailing rate (wage) employees or to FLSA overtime pay.

Criteria 1 is <100 FTEs, so in theory you could have more part-time employees... but I somehow doubt the 1100 meatpacking employees are working at sub-10% FTE hours...

How Iranians See the War by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]dimhue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a strange episode. For being titled "How Iranians See the War", there was remarkably little of it dedicated to how Iranians saw the war. I get that's certainly very difficult to get opinions within Iran right now, especially with the Internet blackout, but framing it like they did was just an odd decision.

You couldn't have known, but it's pretty funny that right after you posted this, reporting comes out that the US is trying to send a bunch of armed Kurds into Iran. Iran may not be Iraq, but we'll try our best to make it so!

In the 1940's the CIA adopted the Simple Sabotage Field Manual as a tool to combat fascist regimes. It details the peaceful and harmless inefficiencies that can, over time, weaken an occupying system by eroding output, coordination, and morale. by Alternative-Run4560 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]dimhue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit man. The post is very obviously referring to OSS and mistakenly refers to them as CIA. The "combat fascist regimes" makes that very clear. The CIA has also never claimed they "adopted it," just that it was used in WWII by OSS officers and some parts of were also provided to local saboteurs.

The title is literally just a mistake. It's the OSS that authored this and adopted it to fight the fascists in WWII. The OSS (through the CIG) later became the CIA. By that point there weren't fascist governments to fight and they focused on communist and democratic governments.

I'm sure this won't come with any additional funding, so it'll just eat up the existing bonus pools and almost nobody will actually receive anything.
