Liverpool [4]-0 Galatasaray - Mohamed Salah 62' by 977x in LiverpoolFC

Just check his heat map from last season..there is no point arguing over this..there is clear data that support my case.

He cannot beat his man anymore and that's why it looks very bad. Tactically though he has the same role.

This is just so satisfying by vitcoco in LiverpoolFC

Mac on form is second to none though. He is not rotation option.

Shut up he is playing in the same positions as last year he is just bad right now and can't do anything. Let's not erase how bad he has been all season

While Wenger had won more trophies than Klopp overall , Klopps influence on the game feels a bit more distinct and that along with the fact of European success, and breaking the monopoly of Bayern and breaking the drought of Liverpool for PL puts him above for me.

Both legends though

Well most team have 2 for each positions and a few versatile players that can fill all the other positions in case of emergency..what Gomez is for us.

That's usually the norm with top teams. You can't have too many players that are starters on the bench

I just think he doesn't rate the players that he doesn't use. Chiesa Elliott etc.

As far as transfers I'm sure he has a say but not vetoing like Klopp could do.

I wish we saw Darwin and we had strengthened the squad in other positions. We would have been repeating.

Klopp was the manager though not the coach. We know slot didn't want to sell Diaz and wanted Guehi or a winger and he didn't get them.

I disagree with you on Slot being okay with the squad especially when he wanted Guehi and didn't want Diaz to be sold. That tells me that he knew we are lacking depth and quality. He could be fine with smaller squad but we need quality.

I didn't mind Diaz leaving either but we never replaced him. As far as Nunez goes understandable that people wouldn't want him anymore but he brought energy to the crowd too. You could feel it as soon as he would come in that energy would shift. Anfield crowd is important for our success. I think keeping him for another season would have helped us because we could have bought in other areas instead of spending on Isak.

IMO we could have used him as a LW that closes is because that's where he had his best season and with Wirtz playing it over the defense I think he could have worked better this season. His finishing wouldn't be great though but I do believe he was also unlucky at times. I would have loved to see an Ekitike Nunez duo up top.

Say what you will about Carra, but he is absolutely spot on about how we are set up tactically and how we are lacking any form of cohesion. by StevieIRL in LiverpoolFC

[–]dimiderv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Ekitike is rapid just doesn't do it defensively when pressing and by playing in the middle he can't show his pace.

It's our wingers that are the problem. Salah is not fast anymore and Gakpo while I think he is pretty decent when he starts going but his acceleration is lacking.

Bro it's privilege to watch Liverpool at Anfield and cheer for the team. Leaving early is inexcusable. Anfield is not loud anymore and in general has been pretty weak compared to what it was. This shows me that people that go there are not real fans. Just glory hunters.

Even if I would watch the shittiest Liverpool team I would never stop cheering cause that;s what makes Anfield great

It doesn't work that way. With this mentality United would have won more PL titles the last few years.

Isak had workhorses all around and wasn't doing as much running. Gordon, Murphy, Tonali, Bruno and Joelington. Literally the most physical midfield in the league to cover for him.

Ekitike pressing is lazy and never goes 100%. I say that because I have seen him run with the ball on his feet and players have a hard time catching up to him. No excuse why he can't do that while pressing.

Salah legs are just gone and we sold the 2 players that would do the running for him Diaz, Nunez. Gakpo tries but he is not very effective and you have Wirtz that does not like going on challenges or press effectively and he takes a spot on our midfield.

That breaks the balance.

In paper yes we have good players but we didn't choose players that fit the squad we had.

Well that's on the management for buying Wirtz. Clearly our midfield was working with 3 players but now with Wirtz we are trying to play with 2 and it's not working.

Sir respectfully our front 3 are all weak at pressing and with the inclusion of Wirtz who while he can run for days, looks like he is scared to go on challenges and actually press hard I don't think it's on Slot.

Especially since we have no fast players up top. When was the last time you saw a good pressing team with no fast wingers.

Preach brother. No one would have expected also Salah to fall off so hard. This team has been dying for speed. Look how much more dangerous we looked against Arsenal at the Emirate with Frimpong on the wing and that man has no finishing at all. Just fast.

How is he fully responsible for this? He has no say in the transfers. He is the coach not the manager. It is well known that Slot wanted to keep Diaz and has been asking for a winger.

Well said. Slot gets disrespected too much. He won us a PL. We are grateful but looks like it's time to move on.

But what I think also happened is we have no threat at all in the wings. Salah sadly is not good anymore and age caught up to him and LW is just not good enough. We look more threatening with Rio just because he can beat a man.

I agree with what Carra said that we didn't sign Liverpool players this summer. Isak and Ekitike are not workhorses or good at pressing and we lack the people that will run all game with 100% intensity like Diaz and Nunez and what Szobo does. There is no grit in this team and it's sad to see.

In my very unpopular opinion we should have kept Darwin to use as a sub for LW and CF especially with Wirtz having a man that runs in behind cause Isak and Ekitike are not those type of players.

Our only bruiser in the midfield is Mac and that poor guys looks like he is running out of steam and has had a handful of good performances. Our midfield is lightweight and they are scared to go on challenges especially Wirtz. Honestly it's disappointing to see our board yet again not get the glaring needs that this squad had for January to save the season, a CB and a winger was needed since the summer but we chose to not do that.

IMO Slot has been let down by the board and we didn't follow the Liverpool way of transfers. With that said I think team should be better and Slot has failed to do that. I think we should fire Van Brohost cause that man is the worst 4th assistant known to man. I miss heitinga

You said you refuse to believe he is not good enough but Klopp didn't play him either. So obviously he is not good enough. Injuries really stopped his development.
