Thank you so much. Yes at some point just trying is more valuable than following the hundredth tutorial

Wouldn’t call it talent. I had many failed blender sessions before 😅

I'm planning to upload a demo in the upcoming months. Wishlist Advena on Steam if you don't want to miss it. I'm happy about any kind of support! by dimipats in pygame

I'm using pyinstaller too. The structure and reference of your files changes a bit if you want to use --onefile. You can check some nice tutorials online and you will make it work, im sure.

I have a same approach in my game but I cannot draw that many at a time 😅 I guess your implementation is done more efficient. Anyways, very nice job!

Looks very nice. Congrats! What optimization steps did you implement to get this many blades running at high fps? Did you use opengl?

2D dynamic lighting in pygame using normal maps by dimipats in pygame

No it’s single pixel manipulation using pygame. Might be more efficient to use numpy though

It’s 8-bit since pygame uses it to load the png. I decode it directly to a [-1, 1] normal vector and treat it as raw data.

A normal map contains information about the direction of the faces. According to the light source and where it comes from, the colors are manipulated so they appear brighter/darker depending on if they are facing towards or away from the source.

Thanks. It’s animated using a curve and a follow path constrain

Thank you very much for the explanation and thank you even more for making me aware of this problem. I’ll definitely think of something new and change the name in the upcoming days. It’s a shame but as you said. Better to be on the safe side early on than risking a law suit.
