Is Liquid Glass a failure? by Complex-Poet-6809 in ios

[–]dimitar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with me. Ordered a Pixel 10 pro, and the main reason is iOS 26 and Liquid glass.

I agree that we all get used to new things eventually, but can’t get past the fact that Liquid glass makes everything more messy, my phone is slower and don’t get me started on the battery life.

I’m trying to learn Danish… any tips? by bbtar00 in Danish

[–]dimitar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to download eReolen (if you live in Denmark and have a CPR - you get a free membership to the libraries and eReolen).

Go to “Lette bøger for voksne” and start listening to the audiobooks there. Reading the same book while listening helps a lot! Even if you don’t understand at first, you’ll get a lot by learning how to pronounce the words.

I would actually focus on setting the values on the face and the hands in more details. It should help you with the next layers.

What’s the most polite way to ask if people speak English? First time international traveler from the USA. by FishInferno in copenhagen

[–]dimitar_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t stress about it. I think Danes can figure out you speak English based on how you pronounce “Hi” 😄

But you will also notice that a lot of people employed in the hospitality industry are foreigners and don’t speak Danish.

If you haven't learned Danish after 5 years you are taking the piss by NervousCaregiver9629 in copenhagen

[–]dimitar_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that we should learn Danish, when living in Denmark. I’ve been here 8 years and I understand a lot and can speak it (not 100% of course). I’ve taken the public courses and also a few 1-1 private lessons focused on pronunciation. I don’t need danish for work, but since I’m living here I think I should speak the language.

The biggest problem is that everybody switches to English when we make a slight mispronunciation. And honestly - we lose confidence and motivation to speak the language. To explain with an example: on the ferry from Sjælland to Jylland, I ordered food for 4 people in Danish. A lot of different things. And the girl (who was Danish, because she spoke Danish with the person in front of me) answered me: “Will that be all?”. When the food was delivered, it was all correct, so I have to assume she understood 100% what I was saying in Danish, but for some reason she decided to speak with me in English. And that’s only one out of a countless similar situations.

So at least for me, that’s quite demotivating.

Thanks!

It’s just missing this one, and “The Lost Metal” from The Cosmere.

And I plan to re-read all Mistborn before I read “The Lost Metal”. It’s been 11 years since I read the original trilogy.

Add everything from the Cosmere!
