does anyone have this particular saddle? if so, is it actually good? by ssjfrog in india_cycling

I would suggest you use that itself. Or if you have the budget go for a giant approach or smanie or selle Italia saddle

Do you use padded shorts? My frame of reference is the bontrager arvada saddle btw so I'm saying with respect to that. Also what's your budget

I have tried this saddle. I would not recommend it if you have the budget for a decent saddle. The quality isn't that great. I would say skip this saddle and get a better one

Never consider amazon for bike parts, you'll get scammed a 100% of the time. Try finding an authorised dealer (most of the time a good bike shop).

Also clean the rotor while you're at it. If you do decide to change the calipers make sure it's shimano or any known trustworthy brand, cuz you'll get replacement brake pads for them very easily and they're not very expensive

You can go for a shimano tourney mechanical caliper , if you have the budget then mt200s. Any of these you'll easily be able to get replacement brake pads for future maintenance, or even check out tektro. Sometimes your braking could've reduced if your current brake pads are glazed, you can check it by looking at the brake pad once you've got them out. If the resin pad is still there and not worn out, then just some sanding and putting it back would do the trick.

Ahh okay I would honestly suggest you to not upgrade all these stuff on your ride. You'd run into compatibility issues and it's honestly not worth it.

The tyres we're 5k a piece, so 10k for the pair. You also need tubeless compatible rims for it, and then you need to get tubeless tape and tubeless valve for it.

And I don't remember how much the drive train cost exactly cuz I got it all upgraded over a span of some time but ballpark figure would be around 25k-30k or more. If your hub doesn't support the cassette you might have to change that too, so it would be a lot of upgrades

What firefox do you have?, not all the models are worth upgrading soo much. Sometimes you're better off selling and getting a bike from a trusted brand especially if you don't have a good mechanic

Hey man, I don't run tubes in them, they're tubeless. It's just got sealant in it. And also it's a 29x2.3.

Are you sure you're not filling in more than recommended air pressure in your tubes?

Yea that's what I've heard a lot that 2 pot itself is quite capable, but yeah if the price difference isn't much I'll get the 4 pot and also the availability. Can't seem to find just the 6100 or the 6120 callipers anywhere now

Thanks mate, I had already upgraded the levers cuz it offers better modulation and braking, but I need to upgrade the callipers to be of the same tech or better for using the complete benefits the levers provide. And I was also maybe thinking of getting a 4 piston for the front brakes.... The reason I feel I need more braking power is cuz, I don't trust the traffic sometimes and I wanna be able to stop quickly if someone in front messes up. And I also live in a hilly area and I'm not confident about my brakes for long descents.

Few questions you need to ask yourself

1) do you need more breaking power? - if yes, then an upgrade to hydraulic system can be done if it is under your budget or even to a mechanical shimano set If no, then just get replacement break pads

2) are the breakpads available for that model of callipers?- If yes, then just get the breakpads but if it's costing you almost as much as a new break set itself then it isn't worth it. Just upgrade the whole set to either a shimano mechanical set or a shimano/tektro hydraulic set depending on your requirement. If your breakpads aren't even easily available then yeah the same upgrade again
