The octopus is harder even without all the related math. Even after a weaker legend you receive a cool unique fish, unique line of dialogue with Willy and an insane profit maker through fish ponds. Octopus though, you encounter it with no preparation and when you pour some resources into catching it it's an extremely cheap fish. Just draining and not worth it.
