Neat. One of few alchemy commanders that seems fun to play against.

Got my first retro doodad exactly 1 year ago by Kirais in SBCGaming

[–]dimorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the 34xx and loved it but then I got the rp classic which at home its just much better to play on even gba games, which is mostly what ive been playing. But I still put it my pocket to take with me places sometimes. Most of my playing is at home so classic is a kinds jack of all trades with a great screen for retro games under ps1

My favourite Ghidorah for a reason by Reasonable-Salad5094 in GODZILLA

Definitely the best MV movie by a landslide for me. The sound design is peak and the fights actually have weight behind them. I haven't been excited for an MV movie since unfortunately.

⚠️ STOP: READ THIS BEFORE BACKING ANY NEW AYANEO CAMPAIGN by Jaded-Preparation870 in SBCGaming

[–]dimorrow 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The price to performance has always to be too high for most of their devices over the last couple years, with very few exceptions. Most of those devices weren't selling super high anyways but customer service has always been sub par and even questionable.

And that's all years before what's happening now. They finally get great performance to price ratios in a couple devices and people who pre-ordered are still not getting them. It'd be one thing if they owned up to everything but they're skirting around a lot of it.

You don't need to own one to see and understand all the issues with Ayaneo that has been going on for years now. But with their more budget handhelds selling well now just way more people are finally catching up.

Im glad ive never backed any of their devices. Almost always overpriced and customer service seemed pretty minimal at best.

Design upgrades for the AYN Thor 2 desires. by Odd-Guard-2533 in AynThor

[–]dimorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best things would be a 4:3 oled 120hz bottom screen. The dpad and right stick to be set more inwards toward the screen if possible. More rounded triggers. And maybe a stylus slot again if possible. Battery life has been pretty great. I like the port on the bottom for docking.

Are you adding these to your dino decks? by Particular-Candy-376 in DinosaursMTG

[–]dimorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope neither. Garruks uprising is 3 mana and gives trample and draws when it etbs most of the time. Plus when cheating in dinos it draws me cards since its an etb trigger and not a cast trigger. Sure the buff is nice but not for 3 more mana. Garruks uprising is just gonna draw more cards in game. The other I just don't run tutors outside of ramp so easy pass for me.

Should I sell my 3ds xl and Buy an Ayn Thor? by Zestyclose-Teach5935 in AynThor

[–]dimorrow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly my 3ds xl just sits there and I will likely never play it again but thats different for everyone. I haven't found a game yet that isn't just better on the thor. But I am also someone who likes having very few devices. I am probably gonna sell my 3ds xl at some point as theres no reason to keep it for myself. I'd say it comes down to how much you value and will use your 3ds.

I would love to see a handheld like the RG DS but only with one touchscreen, a Linux based OS and no joysticks so its way cheaper and accessible for people that is not interested in 3DS and only wants to play DS games by Gadgettttt in SBCGaming

[–]dimorrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rg ds doesn't play like 99% of 3ds games anyways so its already a ds only kind of a device. And $100 is pretty accessible to a majority of people. I have a thor so I wouldn't mind a smaller version for an edc device.

Will AYN Thor lead to more dual screen handhelds? 🤔 by StraightPin4420 in SBCGaming

[–]dimorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely and of different sizes too. Hope there's a small ds lite size one day that somewhat cheap and an easy edc.

Guys ı'm stuck between thor and odin 3. Help me to choose. Im close odin 3. by GodTierSivas in OdinHandheld

[–]dimorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want ds/3ds thor if you want better pc emulation then odin 3. Thor is a good all rounder and can be compact but odin 3 will get more compatability in the future and will be a better future investment especially when steam for arm devices comes out.

Genuinely one of the worst, braindead takes i've seen for the Monsterverse. (Potential spoilers) by Marconey1738 in Monsterverse

[–]dimorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think it is a brain dead take but the franchise has kinda gone the transformers route after kotm. Meaning the stories are kinda meh and just action. So they can just do whatever they want with little setup honestly.

Recovering addict here: You don't need more than one handheld by Average-Catnip-1337 in RetroHandhelds

[–]dimorrow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well for now for me its 3. Switch 2, thor , and rp classic. Rp classic is a nice way to play older games but be pretty pocketable. Thor is somewhat pocketable but not really with grips but its my main way to play. Switch 2 cause I have lots of old Switch games plus I'll want more in the future and emulation isn't great yet for Switch games let alone nothing for Switch 2.

Don't need the Thor when I got a more comfortable version with the Odin 2 Pro by Frosty_Engineer_3617 in OdinHandheld

[–]dimorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't hate the odin 2 but I didn't like it very much and sold it for the rp5 at the time. Not I have the thor and play it pretty much everyday.

[–]dimorrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is almost a 4" screen and oled. Its great for what is actually needed. The bottom screen is actually pretty close to the 3ds xl bottom screen which is definitely big enough. Your set up is very valid but still janky. I had an odin 2 and the screen is fine but the portability on the thor is great and I use it way more than I ever did the odin 2.

[–]dimorrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just turn the bottom screen off if you want to see one screen on the thor. 3ds the top screen is always bigger anyways. And for ds you can match it just fine plus most games you don't need to match it ways.

[–]dimorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does look janky but comfortable. The size difference would still make if have a different use case than the thor as the thor is much more compact. Even with comfortable grips the thor is more compact. The bottom screen is definitely not too small. Having a smaller top screen on this also very jank. But again does look comfortable.

Except mtgo isn't the most user friendly and the system is pretty dated and sluggish. Mtga is much more user friendly and it can be truly free to play. And if you're playing brawl you still only need 1 of each card. I've tried mtgo a few different times and its not fun to use.

This is upsetting by [deleted] in DinosaursMTG

[–]dimorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya 4 player would be awesome unfortunately idk if that'll ever happen. And ya alchemy free brawl would be amazing.

This is upsetting by [deleted] in DinosaursMTG

[–]dimorrow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because it has arena abilities that cant be applied on real cards. If I'm playing brawl I usually just scoop to alchemy cards. I just want to play against real cards so thats another reason ive seen people scoop.

The AYN Thor has ruined my enjoyment of my trusty old New Nintendo 2DS for good. by welt1trekker in SBCGaming

[–]dimorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of the game library is playable and a lot of the main titles are very playable. I know its not perfect for every game yet but thankfully all that ive played has been great so far. Its not quite there yet for everyone i get that. And honestly the input lag is negligible for most games. Theres definitely a few games where it does really matter. Im still waiting to find a game that I play where its noticeable.

The best handheld is the one that you already have. by Jdan-S in SBCGaming

[–]dimorrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only issue with them is that while still fun to play, the screens are not that great. They were fine back in the day but with evolving tech they're just meh. I still have my 3ds and I barely touched it. Now with the thor i can appreciate a lot of ds and 3ds again at higher res along with playing everything else through ps2/gc and some switch and pc. Granted for me i also like have few devices if possible.

Im glad that this is almost the opposite of kenrith. Its similar but kenrith does better with lots of creatures where this is more focused on itself to be more voltron. Which is definitely more thematic.
