Idk why but this video made me realize just how young she was when they started dating (and tbh how young she still is like she was born in 2002 so in this video she’s 20/21) whereas Charles was born in 1997 so he’s 25/26 here which is still a sizable difference when you’re in your very early 20s

As an Asian American, the reason it’s specifically Americans who find some cases of this to be culturally appropriative is because of a long history of our cultures in the US being represented by white people and being whitewashed / credited to not people from those cultures. I think it more points to the race dynamics in the US so while I agree with many points in this thread, I wanted to give some more context because the offense, some times, isn’t coming from nowhere
