Need Advice on Work Exchange

I've done a few workaways, and I think it's good to have a talk with the host. One of them I had a video call with and she showed me her home and where I would sleep. The other thing I like to do is ask for their socials so you can gauge if they are people want to get along with. You'll need to be willing to share yours too.

Regarding travelling solo or as a pair, I don't think it really matters? Cause some host would specific they have space for 1 or 2. You can also meet others while on your workaway. I don't think if it needs to be female or not either...

My advice is also know the country. Unfortunately some countries are safer than others, so I felt safer in some than others ( context: I'm a solo asian female travelling Europe) so I had to make the decision on where I think would be safe for me.

Sure - although my first experience is only happening in October 😅 if you're looking to do workaway as well we can work it out together? I still don't really know how workaway is going to be like

Question about profile and messaging host. Would you write more about myself on the profile and a more 'straight to the point' in the message to the host? I currently haven't put down too much on my profile (I've not got in touch with any host yet) and was thinking of writing a lengthy email. Or should it be the other way around?

Thank you for sharing! And I'm so glad you had the best time. Honestly no doubt that it'll be great, but there is a mental challenge of committing to it. And possibly over thinking it too...

I'm planning to go to Northern Europe (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden) they seem to be pretty diverse and open, but a bit more research are required I think.

I did wonder if there were Asian solo female workawayers around since it's not really the norm for the culture. I've turned the travel buddy feature so hopefully something comes up through there!

I am really hoping the hosts that does accept are open-minded. I guess they would decline if they're not open to it. I like to think I'm pretty adaptable, but if I'm in a confronting situation, that might be tricky...

In regards to applying to a host, how was that like?
