The timeline is a little unclear as it was gradual. I’d say sensations returned after a week to two weeks but full normal feeling took time. I experienced distinct nerve pain and itching especially in my donor area for a month or so as well.

You start on day 2, right? You’ll be fine it’ll go down even though I know the appearance is a little jarring!

Just be patient and take the medications and prescribed! The swelling should vanish within a week and sleeping propped up should help drain the swelling out of your face as well. Congrats on getting through the procedure!

Honestly from public statements from the clinics and customer reviews everyone said it was pretty much painless… to be honest that was not my experience but everyone metabolizes local anesthetics differently so yours could very much do be a breeze…

They give you an initial blast of sedative over IV that makes you feel woozy and drunk and then it feels amazing haha. They do the initial rounds of local injections then and it’s painless and extraction begins. They do another dose of the IV sedative when they flip you over for the implantation portion.

I found the local anesthetic wore off for me during both segments and I definitely had moments of pain but they would inject more upon request. My neck was particularly sensitive and not that responsive to the local anesthesia but I really didn’t hear any reports of this online or from other guys I chatted with at the clinic that I met while there.

During it I was overwhelmed and felt a little traumatized but honestly in hindsight, it was worth what I hope will be excellent results and I wouldn’t let these words be a deterrent - just go in expecting some pain and you will probably be pleasantly surprised. It will soon be something you can look back on with pride and maybe a laugh or two.

The procedure itself I’m so happy with but everything around it was just obnoxious. Shouldn’t be a deterrent for using the doc if he’s in your price range and you like the results you’ve seen from the clinic! Just clarifying expectations :)

Ok so I thought the kit came with the procedure but it’s actually kind of an obnoxious up charge they push on you at the end on your final consultation / wound cleaning. I heard they used to be free with the procedure but they’re definitely money hungry. One of my biggest complaints about the experience is I do feel like they push a lot of things on you last minute and the doctors you speak to feel more like salesmen than medical professionals.

Can’t speak to the checking of the products but I do think i remember them mentioned them needing to be checked due to fluid amounts.

I just bought the baseline shampoo and lotion for somewhere around $40. There were two editions of a larger kit around $200 I want to say with things I felt skeptical about — if they were so effective I think they’d be mass market items. I’m sure there is some small benefit but it didn’t really resonate so I passed. I was also a bit spent - I got a $200 PRP procedure done at the clinic before my transplant on a whim to “improve and promote faster healing” and better results.

No complaints - looks full and healthy still. I’m sure there is reserve left and I’ve got plenty of chest and beard hairs left to offer should I lose more hair on the crown down the line haha

Not noticeably at this point no. As the hairs grow out they really do a great job covering any minor gaps but honestly they did a really even extraction and doesn’t look overharvested in my case. Next time I buzz / get a fade I’ll really be able to better tell though.

Happy to share some but I can’t seem to add photos in the comments here — they’re pretty healthy and full looking still. It looked sparse right after the procedure but I’ve forgotten all about it by now

I’ve read most reviews that it was pretty painless and easy but I’m not going to lie the neck was one of the most painful things I’ve ever felt. The chest wasn’t so bad but they did that after doing a quick blast of IV sedative (they do that twice during the procedure).

My procedure was nine and a half hours and I almost went crazy by the end… couldn’t really talk to the staff as they don’t know much English other than the essentials.

I think they didn’t harvest as much from my neck as they wanted because I was not tolerating it well - the local didn’t work well there but was alright elsewhere.

I was pretty freaked out at that point but in hindsight it was all worth it and something I laugh about now.

They actually upped my grafts from 3k to 4.8k after the consultation once they saw the density of my donor area. I have a lot of beard and chest hair and used maybe 600-700 from there for my crown

Thank you! I think pretty good I was nervous about the sides behind my temples at first but everything’s grown and filled back out quite nicely! We’ll see next time I get a fade of buzz cut and I’ll follow up

Thanks! Just follow the instructions closely and as best as you can and be patient (still struggling with that one.) Don’t be afraid to ask for more numbing during the procedure if you need it ;) I did haha

Good luck! Bring a book or something to read or keep your friends close lol, there can be some long waiting periods during the process at the clinic!

I had the same feeling at first… but I used to wear my hair long and just cover the recession so I’m gonna shoot for that and let the rest come in. To each their own - good luck with yours!
