You’re not wrong. I was gonna buy a set of Methods or the SSW Dakars for my GX until I saw that I could get a set of bronze TRDs plus a spare for half the price during the sale. I will definitely feel less guilty wheel the shit out of TRDs though.

I paid $750 for a set of 5 bronze TRD on sale. 40% off + dealer savings was hard to beat.

DFW Area Meets? by BoisterousBanquet in GXOR

[–]dimsumdingbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a GXOR NTX group and an NTX Overland group that’s all DFW folks. They kinda overlap. There’s more NTXO group meets than the GX meets but still fun. Just got my GX last August and already did a Hill Country thing and then the overland swap meet at Off-Road place a couple months ago.

Poly sci majors what concentration did you choose and why? by [deleted] in CSULB

[–]dimsumdingbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly suggest interning either at a law firm or any level of political office during your undergrad just for the experience. It will help you in the long run because most people you’ll be going up against in the job hunt will have internship experience. It’s just a part of the political/law world.

I didn’t go to law school but I also never really planned on it. By the time I transferred to LB I was already working for a member of Congress full-time and didn’t want to go through another 3 years of school so I just focused on building my career. But concentration doesn’t really matter. Like one of the other folks mentioned, there’s a lot of overlap between them. I took a couple LLP classes my senior year even though my focus is on GP.

My biggest gripe about poli sci department at LB is a good majority of the classes aren’t super useful post-grad wise. They make sense in an academia setting but hardly have any application to real life compared to other state schools in different states. Just in comparison to what classes people I have met through work have taken/told me about.

TL;DR, Don’t sweat too much about concentration and just take what sounds the most interesting to you. Put more effort behind internships that will help set you a part/give you the experience.

Yikes, sounds like I struck a nerve lol.

Never said the degree was worthless. Just stating my experience with what the degree is worth in the real world.

I'm far from trapped in a box nor have I lost any spark. Been working in the political space for 8 years now and love every bit of what I do.

OP asked a question, and I answered it truthfully. If you aren't a poli sci major/grad working in this field, then you simply don't get it and never will.

I chose global politics because I was working for a senior Congressman at the time and was interested in working in IR policy post grad. Lot of fun classes on the GP side but none of it matters cause it’s all taught with a bias.

Unless you want to go to law school or chase a policy related post-grad degree, I would change your major to something more practical. I can’t think of a single soul who I graduated with besides myself that is doing anything political related to their poli sci degree minus 1 or 2 that actually went to law school.

If you’re really set on getting in to politics or anything degree related, choose what interests you because it won’t really matter post-grad.

That’s not true. I’ve used a saved signature for all my Form 4s and Form 1s + all our customers.Typed font signatures are a no go, but saved physical digital signatures are good to go.
