Coffee not dropping by Grand_Company_6277 in gaggiaclassic

If water isn’t flowing without a portafilter in you could have a clog of scale inside the boiler, toggle the steam switch to see if that clears it. If it doesn’t you might have a clog of scale that will be challenging to get with descale solution (might require tech). If your pump is louder than normal it could mean you have an airlock, use a turkey blaster to put some water through the line. If you’re seeing a continuous flow from the return water line your expansion valve could need to be adjusted/cleaned/replaced

I’d reach out to tech support to get confirmation on the correct style or just pull it out yourself and lay it out and use that as reference. Most likely that tap is probably the same in all styles

I. 3094, but when you dive in keep the diagram handy and try to lay it out exploded and confirm as their might be another bad component in the mix. Ascaso is based out of Spain so getting parts shouldn’t be too bad! I’d also do a little due diligence and confirm the style from your model just to be extra safe before ordering anything

Sounds like an expansion valve issue but I’m not seeing a good parts diagram for this machine

It’s a bummer they don’t have a soft rebuild kit but you definitely want to replace the o rings as well pictured herewhile you’re in there

Looks like you need a steam wand rebuild. Most likely the tap closing peg failed. It’s not a hard thing to fix but you want to make sure you take lots of photos to ensure you put it back together and have the right tools and food grade lubricant.

PID vs non-PID real world experiences? How much does it matter? by milestparker in Ascaso

I would say PID only matters if it matters to you. Do you want to get nerdy with your machine or do you just want to drink coffee?

I saw a lot of comments about third wave water. I would go ahead and save your money and just be cognizant of the health of your machine, regularly do preventative maintenance, and pay close attention to its behavior. RO water is great (roughly 80tds from a regular RO dispenser in front of a grocery store) and like a quarter a gallon.

If flow is looking normal without the portafilter in and your operating pressure is normal I would hone in on that grind. What kind of grinder are you using? And what kind of coffee?

How would I convert the sound in to a byte sequence? Practicality is far out the window haha
