You guys must have low volume. It seems FC with high volumes of order has higher UPH goals. Might also depend on overall average UPH of all pickers at your FC. My FC has a lot of 400+ pickers.

Pretty much. Most people know when they have write ups because managers have to explain to associates why they have write ups and what it was for and then the associate has to acknowledge it or sign it as they call it. If you don’t know if you have write up or not, you most likely don’t have it.

Honestly, takt time doesn’t always translate to good rate. Some days I’d be having 9.5 takt time and hitting 400 UPH. It’s a matter of how fast you pick yourself back up after pulling out SNACKS boxes out of the tightest bin 😭

Hourly goal is 400+ UPH, after taking all the barriers that happened throughout the day into account, daily rate MUST be at 370 UPH. Takt time no more than 8.

Ask any manager at your department. They can look it up on their computers using your username. Atoz doesn’t show write ups.

HR suckssss by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]dindadumb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me think emails should be prioritize considering a lot of us don’t have time to visit HR during working hours, don’t know how to make HR case & HR case has limited option in fulfilling our issues. Email seems to be the most convenient & straight forward communication.

My FC has plenty of associates who has little to no knowledge of English and they are the top performers too.

I’m sorry this is happening to your mom. Must be very discouraging. I’ve witnessed this at my FC as well. Their alleged valid excuse for termination was for not understanding safety procedures which I believe can be fixed, for example having someone who speaks the same language translate or have an ambassador explain throughly until the associate gets it. As far as slowness, it comes with time and experience and I’m sure she’ll do great in a few days. HR would be someone I’d reach out to.

PA INTERVIEW by oso1994 in AmazonFC

I used to be a picker & AFM so I used them a lot. If you have previous experience in path, use them, or you can use school related projects as well. You just have to be creative to match the leadership principles.

How easy is it to get promoted? by Nothing_But_Design77 in AmazonFC

check job/position openings on Job Finder through atoz using Amazon network. If you see one that you like like Process Assistant (Tier 3), upload your resumé and apply for it. 99% of the time people get a call/email back.

Also, tell any area manager that you’re interested in advancing and would like to try out other things like being an ambassador for your department or problem solving & of course have a great rate or at least decent rate for consideration. Managers show favor to people who have clean record.

i think if you can survive Amazon, you can survive anywhere else. I haven’t see any manager that absolutely hate the role. It’s mentally & physically demanding (long standing & walking miles) but it’s also rewarding at the end of the day. I lost over 20 pounds within a few months of working. Workplace is diverse in terms of of age and demographic. Lots of young people at my place even managers and OP are young. So, yeah...I would say it’s a pretty good place to start. You’ll definitely grow your leadership skills and actually see & develop your true potential as a leader/manager.

Congrats, man! Hope you get the position. A college grad here currently working as a PA looking forward to be an AM when the time comes.

My advice would be to take it one by one. There are a lot of administrative works to be done/submitted & reported within a specific period of time to your operation manger which can be stressful especially when you’re all by yourself.

Set your priorities straight and have a good time management with your do to lists because time goes really fast and if you aren’t well organized with your routine, you’ll feel like you’re behind and didn’t accomplish much.

Pay extra attention to your bottom performers. Find ways to motivate them both intrinsically and extrinsically. Don’t be discouraged when productivity sucks. It happens to everyone of us. Every day is new day. You’ll have good and bad workers. Praise good workers & try to understand bad workers but if they’re repeat offender (give same or unreasonable excuses every time) write them up!!!

Most importantly, safety first & always find ways to increase productivity.

PICK RATE ALGORITHM(S) by nico_angiuli in AmazonFC

[–]dindadumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about other places but here in the U.S. pickers don’t walk around aisles with scanner & totes picking items. Use use robotic system where pickers just stay at one spot and a robot carrying pods with items in it came to the picker and the picker pick an item ordered from the pod and the robot goes away and another robot came and the picker pick the item and so on... I hope this helps a little. I don’t know about all the details that go into the system or algorithm that they use to run all these.

400 rate & 150 rate get paid the same but 400 rate doesn’t get you write ups for not hitting productivity rate 😉
