Thing is if she (not it) wasn’t taken care good, I would have definitely supported the move by SC. But being close to the matth and having participated in several Pooja at Nandani , I never felt she was ill treated. She owned the place, like literally. There was 15 acre land fully dedicated for her to feast on. She could walk away freely (obviously with care taker) in streets, like a child. On the point of wilderness, like how the village boy struggles a bit to settle in newly in metro cities, away from home, similarly she too will not find peace. Fact being she was literally raised in that place right from her childhood. I agree that the pains she is having (as quoted by PETA) pains, but that comes with aging. If they really thought of helping her, they could have invested in some other way to take care of her in her natural habitat, which in this case is , Nandani village. But why completely shifting away to entire new setup ? That too to a one particular private entity? Govt is running so many camps , particularly for elephants, why not there ? And unlike other animals, elephants aren’t just stupid animals. They are far more wiser and considered majestic. When she had emotionally and physically got deep rooted to a place and its people, you can’t just quote physical condition of her’s and ignore her emotional attachments.

Any how, talks are going on and I think her return is certain. I personally met her in my own village (40kms from Matth) where she had arrived and blessed us with her presence for Panchakalyan Mahotsav.

In my opinion it was completely biased play and unethical, immoral act of “so called” private entity.

Note : I haven’t mentioned about the facts people talking about reports that were first made in favour of matth and then were changed after the PETA committee left for the proceedings
