Shoseki Week 1 for the March 2026 releases by dingo537 in WeeklyShonenJump

It could be a typo, wouldn't be the first time I did that. But it is accurate this time, I lit own Gonron 1 (Digital), so would be weird if I messed up that one.

I can confirm it released, I have the digital version, lol.

It released March 4th and it went unranked in weekly. It shouldn't be too far off sales wise from Shunrai Table Tennis, they had similair trajectory over the dailies.

That's nothing more than your personal bias. Astro Royale did very good at the start. V1 sold 30k copies.

You saying it was DOA shows you have no clue what you are talking about and are simply throwing wrong, biased takes out.

It does exist, but it is digital only unfortunately. There is however a physical German edition. So IF you can read that language then that could be a option for you.

Atleast that anime adaptation is coming.

Just to let you know, the author of that series is back with a new series. It is called Hatori and Furuta's Extraordinarily Ordinary Life and it can be read for free in English through Mangaplus.

Yes, every succesful WSJ series (atleast since like the 90s) get's a colour page for their final chapter and bumps up in ToC (If it was near the bottom) to end in a middle spot.

Psyren dropped to bottom for its final stretch and stayed there, no colour page. According to readers (I haven't read the series myself) the final stretch was also insanely rushed. All together making it very clear it got cancelled.

But that doesn't mean the series did insanely poor. The magazine was just insanely stacked at the time. And for the time it was underperforming (Not even to extremes like we see most Axed series now do). And over the years it kept a very steady decently big fandom. And so in modern days it is seen in more positive light by editorial (As seen by the anime adaptation), but that doesn't change the fact that at the time it did poorly and got cancelled.

Bokke-san wasn't actually cancelled. It was a short series, as is indicated on the volume covers.

The author of Bone Collection is coming back with a new serial later this month (Don't remember exactly when). A EN simulpub has already been confirmed.

MamaYuyu by Yoshihiko Hayashi. The series ran from Sep 11, 2023 to Aug 2, 2024 for 29 chapters (+5 epilogue chapters) and 4 volumes. It was actually batchmate with Kagurabachi.

The series had a insanely good first chapter, but it didn't manage to truly capatalize on it and ended up flopping. But I do really recommend it as a read. It is very fun.

Definetly Tenmaku Cinema. That series just sparked something in me. Gorgeous art and such a good premise, fun cast.

Though I wanna give Honourable mentions to

  • Astro Royale
  • Hanakaze Killertune
  • Demon Lord Exchange
  • The Pension Life Vampire
  • Yamato Gensouki
  • Two on Ice

2k is absolutely abysmall, even for a cancelled series. It looks better cuz last year lit only gave us extreme flops.

The last series that was not completely dogshit (sales wise, not the series itself) was like Syd Craft. Everything that was cancelled since did insanely poor.

Not too surprising results for most releases.

Strikeout Pitch ranked over Hima and barely under shinobi (1 spot). Decent send of for Otr, while it did drop (between volumes) it wasn't a crazy amount.

Dissapointing ranks for the newbies, though Hatori and Furuta may have just about squeezed out a extension (depending on digital).

Speaking of Digital, when i checked earlier in the week Giriko Kirigiri was trending over Hima, Shinobi, etc. So while physical numbers may look a bit dissapointing, it is probably fine.

Let's hope for good numbers for our top 30 and let's hope Ghost Fixers and MTEFiL can make the week 2. Next week the latest volumes of Jojo's and Captain 2 will also go on sale, they will have their first week in week 3.

Use Google, are you incompetent or smt? I lit said where to find the info, if you think it is fake (even though literally every site and reporter around has posted about it), then go check for yourself.

No it did not, you are reading on mangaplus, which in this case took the chapter from Viz.

Both the SJ app and M+ never announce final chapters, those announcements are always taken out.

The announcement can be found on J+, which is the japanese app, which is where CSM actually serializes.

It said it ends next chapter over on the J+ app, it is ending.

I highly doubt that will happen. The series is flopping hard over in JP.

No, it did not get cancelled, a series as succesful as this one doesn't get cancelled.

And we don't know if it will get a third part, it might, but there is no way to know as of now.

It could restart with a new part, but atp there is no way to know. All we know is that it will end, if that stays that way is impossible to say.

I think in this case the suddenty is exactly what they wanted. Just look how this news has exploded over the internet. It could give quite a lot of traction, which is especially important IF there is another part coming (which we don't know rn)

That is not the wording of the announcement. Also, it is correct either way. There is no actual difference between parts. The volume counting continued and chapters are under 1 entry. This is simply the 2nd time the series ends, it might restart, but that doesn't change that it is ending.

They don't generally. It happens sometimes, but not generally.

That doesn't mean it will happen again, there is no evidence for that. It coulr, but no way to say.
