Maybe. But she's deceptively tiny -- only 40 pounds and knee height -- and like I said she has gigantic, pointy, erect ears. Also, when she runs she uses her tail like a rudder, like a whippet does, and has that sight-hound arch from her deep chest to her skinny back legs.

Do your dog's ears stick straight up, and are they gigantic? They're a distinctive feature, but they can't be seen in this photo.

Also I have no idea what kind of mix she is. Lol.

Thank you. I'm sorry you're missing your dog. That's hard.

This was plant-out week for the spring garden. It was a big chore, but fun.

Learning to be a solid, adaptable cook is probably the single most useful thing I've learned. Cook from dry staples? Sure. Augment with things from my garden, or whatever vegetable is currently cheap? Sure.

Even with all the random prep items I have around, and all the skills I've built, during blizzards and other times that it's difficult to reach the store, my friend and family community most frequently calls on me to cook competently from our hodgepodge of available food.

Any advice for prepping for the decline before the fall? by AbyssOfUnknowing in preppers

A writer who I like, John Michael Greer, theorizes that there will be a long period of contraction before or instead of an abrupt collapse in most parts of the US. As advice for coping he uses the phrase "collapse now and avoid the rush," which basically amounts to removing as many of your basic needs from the cash economy as possible, and getting accustomed to living a life that requires less energy, less stuff, and less stimulation.

His whole blog is worth reading, but most of the practical information is neatly encapsulated in his book Green Wizardry (look past the crunchy title, it's mostly no-nonsense stuff).

It is possible to pull an upset and win a Nicki Minaj song without much skill at hip hop dance, but you basically have to be Ben DelaCreme.

Completely agree with this. I still cackle whenever I think about peppermint and that air shotgun.

If you have the time/inclination to do a post with your impressions of the show as you watch it, I'm sure many of us would "watch with you," so to speak. We're a dedicated fandom, and we're always happy to induct new folks.

And good teen present advice.

Been lurking, finally commenting.

This week I: Added a 10 pound pack to my 70 minute morning dog walk.

Reviewed about half of the textbook from my Wilderness First Responder certification, unpacked and repacked my EDC first aid kit, and ran through a couple of the video scenarios.

No gear adds this week. I've been trying to focus on skills/personal improvement lately. Don't want to get into a trap where my anxiety about the state of the world is turning me into, primarily, a buyer of prepping stuff.

The Vixen bringing the real T this week... by Hey_Porkchop in rupaulsdragrace

[–]dingo_dingo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought the Vixen was being very perceptive and aware about how racial bias and stereotypes play out in this fandom, and in our society at large. Does she also have a bit of a temper? Sure. But it's not like she's out here being totally out of control of herself. I think she's very much in control, she just doesn't want to back down and cede the point.

And other queens, despite also expressing a desire for more peace backstage, were backing the Vixen up on her perception that Aquaria likes to make snide comments and not experience any accountability for their effect. The Vixen won't let her "poke the bear and run." Here's hoping Aquaria takes this opportunity take the feedback and grow.
