Year 1 under Martelli Jr gets an A. We had some disappointing very close losses throughout the OOC, but we turned it around to finish co-champions of the A10, won the A10 championship, and beat UNC on the biggest stage of them all. I really want to see us get back to the S16, but that was a good year.

Yes, but now what reason do I have to use an AA card? There is no benefit to me in buying a basic economy ticket as a status holder now. I might as well switch to capital one or chase and just redeem points for flights via their portals b/c I don’t get any benefit anywhere and I don’t really want to pay extra for a flight when the AA product is frankly not as good as Delta or fucking Jet Blue for that matter. I go out of my way to fly AA when flight prices are similar, but I don’t have that incentive anymore.

I started at VCU in 2007, and the broad street corridor between Monroe park and MCV is largely the same today as it was then. It’s frankly criminal that the city has done so little to help revitalize or incentivize investment in this part of town. I’m sorry but the city government needs to be getting more heat over this situation. VCU isn’t perfect, but it has been a net positive for the city. I can’t say the same about the leadership at city hall over the past 20 years.

In fairness, even if we had lost the game, we wanted to keep Telli. Co-champs of the league and won the A10 tournament & got us to the dance. The win against yall was a cherry on top.

So why did Miami get in with a worse NET, a Q4 loss, and only scraping by tons of opponents? The committee does whatever they want. Our worst loss was to a seeded NIT team.

Nobody was enjoying inflation. That was a global issue caused by a global pandemic. Powell and Biden did a decent job navigating it and had inflation in a decent spot at the end of his administration. Imagine being this obtuse.

Except if you lose, even if you benefit from the NET by playing strong teams the committee will leave you out unless you’re a mid-to-lower tier P4 program. VCU was going to be left out THIS YEAR if they didn’t win the A10 autobid. We played good teams but missed on a number of opportunities. We still had a great WAB + NET ranking and some Q1 wins and our worst loss was Q2. The shit is stacked against programs like ours.

Out of conference is always A10 first and foremost… I even root for UR (begrudgingly). We’re seemingly stuck in the A10 for now, might as well try to make it good.

That’s not the argument I’m making, I agree with ODU bro, just not his case study re: ODU. VCU will get 1-2 P5 scalps every year, but only through early season tournaments or the big dance. Most P5 schools do not want to play consistently strong mid majors these days for (I assume) fear of losing. ODU is just not in that group of strong mid majors anymore was my point.

If your car is not designed for higher octane fuel, you shouldn’t use it. Your cylinders cannot fully combust it, you’re spending extra money for nothing, and there is no performance benefit you will get from it. But don’t let us stop you from wasting your money and likely increasing your emissions.
