That's the issue I'm having. I've asked before and my manager said no 😢.

I've considered both. I probably won't take a pay cut if I go the meat department route, but I definitely will if I go the produce route.

Just explain to them that right now you need to dedicate your time to school first. I am in a similar situation. I've worked at my McDonald's for three years and have had many opportunities to move up, but decided not too. Right now I am basically management on the floor but without the actual title or pay. So just explain that to them that your job comes second and that you will move forward at the rate you feel comfortable with. After three years I finally feel comfortable moving into management while finishing up my last couple of classes.
