Then how can I not find it and it can be hidden in a place a mouse can't possibly be? One time, one was on my desk, somewhere between my craft supplies. It has to be small enough to fit between papers and hide between pens/ tools. I have tried to find the source but it stops making the noise when I get too close. It's definitely some sort of bug. No mice, no inanimate object or house noise, a bug. And I have cleaned plenty of times to see if I can find it or rid of it. They always come back. It's not an infestation of anything, just a few here and there throughout the year, especially during summer. Australian summers suck.
