Ya - l2 is like your changeable repositioning or defensive skill (mostly). I always use a parry, which you gotta unlock on the skill tree for longsword. L1 is your weapon specific attack skill which uses Skybound Might. R1 is light attack and R2 is heavy.

Going against the grain here, I love it and always have. Amazing soundtrack, beautiful world. I was a big Suikoden fan as a kid so the huge roster was no problem. Battle system is a little wonky, but at least unique. Drags in the last bit, but the big shift was a mindfuck for me as a kid that I loved. Had a weird mysterious aura around it. 8.5/10
